The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room,
City Hall Building, Friday evening, .Tune 28th, 1946, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being
present were Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe, City Manager Quinnell,
City Attorney Aitken, City Engineer Thorpe, and the Clerk, when the following proceedings

The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner

The following applications for City Licenses were presented and read:

Bond & Cn tra c t - W & C 1946
The bond and contract of A. Tobin for the construction and repair of Misc. W & C 1946
was presen ted. The bond and contract were approved as to form by the City Attorney, where-
upon, it was moved by Commi8sioncr ~orenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the bond
and contract be accepted and approved and the certified che~k returned to the bidder and
the motion was carried by the following Aye ,and No vote; those vo tinp; Aye being Ma yor Hea ly,
Co~missioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
~pecial Meeting -- Report of Burns & McDonnell
The Manager announced therewould be a special meeting of the City Commission held on
the 1 s t da y 0 f ,Tu 1 y, to hear the report of Burns and McDonnell relative to the proposed
sewarze trea tment plant for The City of Boze'ran.
Meetlng of City Comrrission
The matter of the City Commission meeting earlier in the week was discussed pnd it was
decided that as soon as the necessary arrangements can be made, the City Commission will
meet on Wednesday of each week at 1:00 P.M. instead of on Fridays at 7:30 P.M. as formerl y.
I Rec ommenda "'tions of Adju~tment Board
The City Mana~er reported that the following recommendations were made to the C1 ty
Commission by the Board of Adjustment at a recent meeting of that body:
1. That all of the "e" Residence Distriot lying west of 11th Avenue be in-
cluded in and made a part of the "a" Residence District.
2. That the 1945 Uniform Building Code be adopted as a City Ordinance for
The City of Bozeman as soon as coPies of the new buildin~ code can be
secured, and that any reservations, chan!=fe,oc., or modifications th':J. t the
City Commis~on wishes to make in the said code be clearly stated and set
forth in the resolll tion or ordinance adopting the same.

SPECIAL MEETING OF Tfill CITY COMMISSION
Bozeman, Montana
July Is t, 1946
The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in special session in the Commission
Room, Ci ty Hall Building, Monday, ,July 1st, 1946 , at 3:00 o'clock P.M. Those being
present were Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe, City Manager Quinnell,
Dr. A. D. Brewer, Dean Cobleigh, H. B. Foote, W. R. Border, Fred Willson and the Clerk,
when the following proceedings were had to-wit:
The Manager stated that Mr. R. .t. . McDonnell, of the Burns and McDonnell Eng:ineering
Company of Kansas City, Missouri was present to present their written report on the pro-
posed Sewage 'T'rea tment Plan t for The Oi ty of Bozeman.
Mr. McDonnell explained in detail the report and answered questions of those present. I
He explained that there were two factors that influence the design and cost of the pro-
posed plant, namely; excessive ground water infiltration, and the treatment of pea
cannpry wastes llJring the canning season. Mr. McDonnell strongly recommended that the
cannery wastes be treated,by lar::ooning, in a separate plant of their own and that only the
treated effluent be turned into the city sewer system at a controlled rate over a con-
siderable period of time.
Copies of the report were left wi th the Commission and the CIty officials for study
and consideration.

moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the meeting adjourn
and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those vo ting Aye be1ng
