The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room,
City Hall Building, Frida y evening, July 19 th, 1946, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being
presen t were Ma yor Hea ly, Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe, City Manager Quinnell,
Director of Finance ~alter Davis, City En~ineer Thorpe, City Attorney Aitken and the Cle rk,
when the following proceedin~s were had to-wit:
1 The minu te sof the las t regular session were read, and it was moved by Commis sioner
Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that tbe minutes be approved as read, and the
motion was carried b~ the following Aye and No vote;
those voting Aye being Mayor Healy,
Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Veterans HOllsirg
Mr. F. L. Dye, representing the American Legion, appeared before the Commission and
explained plans for the Veterans Hops ing Uni ts to be placed on Ci ty property immedia tel y
east of the Softball Park. This project is being sponsored by the American Legion with
the co-operation ,f The City of Bozerran.
AppliCAtions for City Licenses
The following applications for City Licenses were presented and read:

It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commis2ioner Sorenson that the appli-
cations be approved and the lic ens es issued and the motion was carried by the following
Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commi?sioner
Lowe; thos em ting No, none.
I Public Hearing S.I.D. };o. 341
The Manap:er stated that this was the time and place set for the hearing of protests
to the creation of Special Irrprovement District No. 341. He presented the affidavit of
publication of the Notice to the property owners and the Clerk's mailing certificate that
all property owners had been notified. There being no one present to protest and no
protests being filed, it was moved by Commissioner .:Jorenson, seconded b:,,: Commissioner Lowe
tha t the City Attorney prepare the resolution creatin~ the district and the motion was
carried by the following Rye and No vote; tho:> e voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner
Sorenson and Corrnnissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Pnblic Hearing S.I p. No. 342
The Manager stated that this was the time and place set for the hearing of protests
to the creation of Special Improvement District No. 342. He presented the affidavit of
publication of the Notice to the property owners and the Clerk's mailinrr certificate that
all property owners had been notified. Mr. Wm. McCann was present and stated he owned
property in this district, but did not wish to protest the creation of the District. No
.1 protests having been filed, it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner
Sorenson tha t the City Attorney be instructed to prepare the resolution creating the dis-
trict and the motion was carried by the following ~ye and No vote; those voting Aye being
Wayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those vot~ng No, none.
Public Hearl.rrr -- Li~hting Assessment
The Manager stated that t'is was the time and place set for the hearing of protests
to Ie vying the assessment for special improvement lighting districts for the year 1946.
He presen ted the affidavit of publication of the No tice, and s ta ted tha t no one was

present to protest and no protests had been filed, Resolution No. 5':77, entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF' BOZEMAN, MONTANA, LEVYING AND
ASSESSING LIGHTHTG DISTRICT MAINTENANCE AND ELECTRICAL CURRENT COSTS FOR
SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT LIGHTING DISTRICTS NUMBERS 100, 284, 288, 289, 290,
295 AND 300 OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, PURSUANT ,TO THE PROVISIONS OF SECTIONS
5266, R. C . M. 1935.
was presented. It was moved by Commissi on8r Lowe, seconded by Commis si oner Sorenson
that the resolution be finally passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the foI- I

Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
~Jblic Hearjng -- Sprinkling Assessment
The Manager stated that this was the time and place set for the hearing of protests
to the levying of the assessment for street sprinkling for 1946.. He presented the affi-
davit of publication of the Notice and stated that no one was present to protest and no
protests had been filed, whereupon Resolution No. 578 was presented, ,entitled:

It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the Resolu-
tion be finally passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following dye and No

voting No, none.
Vise W P C 1946
The Mana rrer sta ted tha t dlJring the week he and the C1 ty Engineer had inspec ted the I
property of School District No.7, on Dickerson Street between 8th and 9th Avenues, where a
sidewalk had been ordered constructed and it was their opinion that the School District
authorities should be asked to comply with the original order and to cause this piece of
sidewalk to be constr1Jcted as soon as possible.. The Commission stated that the construc-
tion of t~is sidewalk should go forward as originally planned.
Report
The report of the City ~ngineer for the month of .June , 1946 was presented and read.
It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, second ed by Comm!:'"! s ion er Lowe that the report be
accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No Yote;
those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson, Commiseioner Lowe; those vot1ne;

Budget 1946-1(4:7
The Mans?er presented copies of the preliminary estimates of the budget for the
comIng fisca 1 year ending June 30 th, 1947 for examina tion and study by the members of the
City Commission.
Annual Audit I
The Mans€"sr s ta ted tha t the law reql1i red an annual audi t 0 f the ci ty books by s CPA.
The Commission stated they were agreeable to employing C. B. Coulston, CPA to make this audi t.
Adjournment
There bej.ng no furtier business to come before the Commission, it was moved by Com. Lowe,
seconded by Com. Sorenson that the meeting adjourn and the motion was carried by the following
