Those being present were Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe, City Manager Quin- nell, City A ttorney Ai tken, City Engineer Thorpe and the Clerk, when the following pro- I c-eedings were had to-wi t: The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe tha t the minutes be approved as read, and the .. motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Applications for City Licenses The followin~ applications for City Licenses were presented and read: Marshall's Arnold C. Durand Anderson Beauty School W. V. Hicks Fleming Wholesale Thomas Chevron Service M. L. Hutlgren Dr. C. E. Whi tehead Baxter Hotel Pharmacy E. W. Thompson Willmore & Howells Maggard & Gum Motor Co. Dr. E. R. Grig~ Dokken-Nelson-Kippen Farnstrom Conoco Service Lovela oe Studio It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the appli- cations be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; thos e vo ting No, none. Application for Beer & Liquor License The application of Clarence C~sner for a retail City Beer and a retail City Liquor .1 License was presented and read. As Ordinan ce No. 658 limi ts the number of Ct ty retail Beer licenses to eight, which equals the number of such licenses now in force in the City, it was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe tba t action on these applications be deferred and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those va ting Aye being Ma yor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those vo ting No, none. Resolution Urging Re-appointment of Park Board A resolution from the Bozeman Chamber of Commerce was presented and read, urging that - a Park Board be re-organized for the proper planning and beautification of the City Parks and public places including new additions to the City. It was shown that such a board could act in an advisory capacity only, as prOVided by law, but that city officials would welcome any feasible plan or suggestion submitted by any suct board or a committee. Representative to MRC Hearin~ Mr. L. C. Woodburn, of the City Taxi Lines, was present and 8$k the City to be repre- sented to testify at the hearing before the Montana Railroad Commission, February 20th, 1946, regarding the issuance of an MRC Permit to operate a bus within the City limits. Mr. I Woodburn s ta ted the t the Chief of Police was going to be presen t, and the Commission felt that no further representation would be necessary. Liquor~ & Beer License for Mcl'Tab & Pegram 1I!r.,. R. B. MacNab, Jr. and Ed. Pegram were present to inquire if the Commission has taken any action on their application for a City Beer and Liquor License. The y were in- formed that action on their applications had been deferred, until such time as Ordinance No. 658, which limits the number of such licenses to eight is amended. After considerable 320 discussion relative to recent state decisions regarding the issuance of beer and liquor licenses, Mr. MacNab and Mr. Pegram stated they would appear before the Commission at a later date regarding this matter. Ac'journment There being no further business to come before the Commis sion a t this time, it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the meeting adjourn and I the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those va ting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; tho se vo ting No, none.
