Bozeman, Montana March 1st, 1946 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Friday evening, March 1st, 1946, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being present were Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe, City Manager Quinnell, City Attorney Aitken, City Engineer Thorpe and the Clerk, when the following proceedings I were had to-wi t: - The minutes of the Bst regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the minutes be approved as read, and the mo- tion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those vot:i.ng Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Use of Baseball Park Mr. Kenneth Railey and Gaylord Spieth, of the Bozeman Softball Associatior, were present to inquire regarding leasing the baseball park for their Association. They sta ted their association has spent considerable money maintaining the part) such as planting grass, installing additional lights and sound equipment, and they had heard the park had been leased to the American Legion. The gentlemen were informed that the American Legion had, at one time, leased the Ci ty baseball park, and had carried on their Junior ,baseball program there, in co-operation with the Bozeman Softball Association. It was suggested that members of the Softball Association meet with members of the American Legion to work out a schedu'le for .10int use of the ball park during the coming .1 season, and in the meantime, The City of Bozeman would check on the old lease of the park to the American Legion. Applications for City Licenses The following appliCAtions for City Licenses were presented and read: The Bungalow, City,Dye Works Bozeman Auto Wreckers Ohlsen Studio Hennessey Store Badgley Machine Shop Dr. C. S. Smi th Bozeman Courier Chambers-Fisher Company H. G. Darlinton Russell Thea tree It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the applica- tions be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried b:' the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; thos e voting No, none. Claims for the Month Claims Nos. 9794 to 9947 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows: Band $ 131.70 Cemetery 326.96 Cemetery Suspense 65.00 Garbage 1,071.40 General 7,766.41 Library 632.63 I Park 1,109.89 Police Reserve 86.15 Fire Relief 545.55 Water 1,786.14 W-H Tax 498.60 $ 14,020.43 and cIa ims }.TOS. 417 to 431 inclusive in the amount of $930.40, for the January operation of the Nursery School were also presented. The Manager s ta tad tha t be has a udi ted the s e claims and finds them to be true and lawful clai!t!s against The Ci ty of Bozeman and recom- mends that warrants be drawn for their payment~ After examination of the claims in detail by the City Commission, it was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner 324 Lowe that the claims be approved and warrants drawn for the i:1'pa ymen t, and the motion was carried by the followin~ Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Reports The following reports for the mon th of February, 1946 were presented and read: Police Judge Cashier Sanitary Inspector I Police Chief Librarian Water Collector Fire Chief and the anmlal report of the City-County Health Unit. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, ~econded by Commissioner Sorenson that the reports be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those vot~ng Aye being Mayor Heal y, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Appointment -- Plumbing Board Mayor Healy announced the appointment of Julius Wolfe as a member of the Plumbing Board, for a three year term ending Januarylst, 1949. It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson seconded by Commiss ioner Lowe tha t the appoin tmen t be approved and the motion was car- ried by the fo llowing ,A ye and No vo te; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; thoEe votin g No, none. Adjournment There being :ho further business to come before the Commission at thi s time, it was moved by Commissioner Lowe; seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the meeting adjourn and the motion was ca rried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being I Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those vo ting No, none.
