HomeMy WebLinkAbout1945-08-03 2f.j{l Bozeman, Montana August 3rd, 1945 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Friday evening, August 3rd, 1945, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being present were Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe, City Manager Quinnell, City Attorney Aitken, City Engineer Thorpe and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had to-wit: The minutes of the last re~11ar session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the minutes be approved as read, and the I motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Applications for City Licenses The following applications for City Licenses were presented and read: Jack Brant H. D. Van Gundy It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the appli- , cations be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Reports The following reports for the month of July 1945 were presented and read: Chief of Police Water Collector Fire Chief Cashier Police Judge Librarian Cemetery Board It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the reports be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Busch and Commissioner Lowe; those I voting No, none. Public Hearing Appropiration Ordinance No. 733. The Manager stated that this was the time and place set f or the public hearing on the appropriation ordinance for the fiscal year ending June 30th, 1946. He presented the affidavit of publication of the notice and stated th t no one was present to protest or make inquiry and that no protests had been filed. Ordinance No. 735. Amending Zoning Ordinance The Manager stated that in accordance with the recommendations of the Board of Adjust- ment, reached at a public hearing held July 23rd, 1945, and the instructions from the City Commission, the City Attorney had prepared an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 711, the Zoning Ordinance, so as to make the south one-half of Block F, Story's Addition, a part of Business-Residence District No.2; instead of a part of the "B" Residence District as at present. The ordinance was presented and read in full for the consideration of the City Com- mission. It was pointed out, however, that under the provisions of Ordinance No. 711, I this amendment cannot be passed and approved until the regular meeting of the City Com- mission to be held on August 17th, 1945. Claims for the month. Claims Nos. 8559 to 8737 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows: Cemetery General Library Park Water $ 1,338.60 7,712.85 579.90 2,333.56 1,828.20 Band Cemetery Garbage War Bond W-H Tax Total 580.85" Susp. 146.25 1,072.30 93.75 1,019.20 $ 16,705.16 1 I .1 ~)-7 '..,1 a and claims Nos. 318 to 329 in the amount of $851.60 for the ope_ra tion of the Nursery School were also presented. The Manager stated that he has audited these claims and finds them to be true and lawful claims against The Ci ty of Bozeman a nd recommends that warrants be drawn for their payment. After examination of the claims in detail by the City Com- mission, it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that war- rants be drawn for their payment and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the meeting adjourn \ and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
