HomeMy WebLinkAbout1945-08-10 2-Q .,an Bozeman, Montana August lOth, 1945 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Friday evening, August 10th, 1945, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being present were Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe, City Manager Quinnell, City Attorney Aitken, City Engineer Thorpe, Director of Finance Walter Davis and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had to-wit: The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Proposed Westlake Plat Mr. A. E. Westlake and Myron Westlake were present to talk with the Commission regard- ing the platting of the land owned by them at the corner of North Seventh:and Peach street. City Attorney Aitken read from Chapter 480 of the Montana Statute regarding the plat- ting of land within the City, and it was evident from the proposed plat as presented that the plat did not conform with the requirements of the law, and Mr. Westlake was informed that the Commission could not, therefore~ approve the plat as submitted but he was assured that if and when he laid out his tract in accordance with legal requirements, the plat would be approved. It was suggested that City Attorney Aitken and Mr. Westlake's Attorney should get to- gether and discuss the platting of this land to see what can be worked out for a satisfac- tory adjustment of the matter. Reports The report of the sanitary inspector for July 1945 was presented and read. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the report be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Mr. C. E. CoulBto~ CPA, appeared before the Commission and presented a report of his examination of the City's accounts for the fiscal year ending June 30th, 1945. After explanation of the report by Mr. Coulston, it was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the report be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting.Aye being Mayor Healy, commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Resolution No. 559 -- Tax Levy Resolution No. 559 setting the tax levy for the fiscal year ending June 30th, 1946, en tl tled : A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN DETERMINING THE AMOUNT OF CITY TAXES FOR ALL PURPOSES, GENERAL AND SPECIAL, TO BE LEVIED AND ASSESS- ED ON TAXABLE PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, STATE OF MONTANA, FOR THE FIS- CAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30th, 1946. was presented and read. It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the resolution be p~ssed and adopted and the motion was carried by the follow- ing Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Com- missioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
