August 17th, 1945
The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room,
City Hall Building, Friday evening, August 17th, 1945, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being
present were Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe, City Manager Quinnell,
City Attorney Aitken, Director of Finance Walter Davis, City Engineer Thorpe and the Clerk
when the following proceedings were had to-wit:
The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner

Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the minutes be approved as read, and the mo-
tion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy,
Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Application for City License
The applic2tion of Ray Anderson for a one-half year city license was presented and
read. It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the appli-
cation be approved and the license issued and the motion was carried by the following Aye
and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner
Lowe; those voting No, none.
Bids for SID # 338
The Manager stated that this was the time and place set for the opening of bids for
the construction of a sanitary sewer in Special Improvement District No. 338, located in
the West Side Addition. It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner
Lowe that the bids be opened and read, and the motion was carried by the following Aye
and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Connnissioner Sorenson and Commissioner
The bid of the Standard Construction Company being the only bid received was opened

Furnishing material and the construction of Special
Improvement District District No. 338, as per plans
and specifications
$ 6,793.80.
The bid being $784.20 lower than the Engineer's estimate of cost for this project~

be awarded to the Standard Construction Company and the motion was carried by the follow-

Ordinance No. 735 -- Amending Zoning Ordinance
The Manager stated that this meeting b~ing at least ten days since Ordinance No. 735,
making the south one-half of Block F, Story's Addition a part of Business-Residence District
No.2, was presented to the Commission for consideration, that the Ordinance could be con-
sidered for final passage and adoption at this meeting.

Walk Ordered Constructed
Mr. W. E. Blair, 517 East Cottonwood, appeared before the Commission and ask that
sidewalk be constructed on Cottonwood Street from Wallace Street west, so that residents
living west of Wallace on Cottonwood Street could have their mail delivered, as they all
have their sidewalks built.
After consideration, it was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner
Lowe that this sidewalk which would abut the Ed Lehrkind property at 702 North Wallace
that is the South one-half of (Lots 17 to 20) Block 108; Northern Pacific Addition be
ordered constructed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those
voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner SorsBson, and Commissioner Lowe; those voting
No, none.
Budget for Airport
The annual budget of the Airport Board for the fiscal year ending June 30th, 1946 was
presented, read and approved by the Commission.
FWA Application for Sewage Treatment Plans
An application to the FWA to cover engineering expenses incurred in connection with
the preparation of plans and specifications for the construction of a sewage treatment
plant was presented and signed by the Mayor and Clerk.
Ordinance No. 733 -. Final Passage
The Manager stated that this was the time and place set for the final passage and
adoption of Ordinance No. 733, the appropriation Ordinance for the fiscal year ending
Juen 30th, 1946. He presented and read Ordinance No. 733, entitled:
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONIES FOR THE SUPPORT AND MAINTENANCE, ETC.,
OF THE MUNICIPAL GOV~RNMENT OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, FOR THE
FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 1946.
It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the Ordinance
be finally passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote;
those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those vcting
No, none.

There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was
moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the meeting adjourn
and the motion was carried by the following Aye and Novote; those voting Aye being Mayor
Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
