The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room,
City Hall Building, Friday evening, September 7th, 1945, at 7:30 P.M. Those being present
.'were Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe, City Manager Quinnell, City
Attorney Aitken, Director of Finance Walter Davis, City Engineer Thorpe and the Acting Clerk,
when the following proceedings were had to-wit:
The minutes of the last regular session were read, and on motion made by Commissioner
Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe, were unanimously approved.
H. E. Murdock - Erecting a Tavern on North ueventh
H. E. Murdock appeared before the Commission regarding rumors that he had heard from
different persons regarding the erection of a tavern on North Seventh. Mayor Healy advised
him that these persons had probably misunderstood the application of William J. KOlokotrones,
who had written in, asking the City Commission about the possibility of establishing a
tavern and cocktail lounge on North Seventh. However, it was explained to Mr. MurdoCk,
that such an establishment was not permissable in that zone.
Mr. Murdock also advised thet he had heard there was to be a new church built in that

same vicinity. The City Manager advised him that no application has yet been filed for
this building.
Reports

The folloWing reports for the month of August, 1945 were presented and read:
Sanitary Inspector
Fire Chief
Police Chief
Engineer
It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the reports
be accepted and ordered riled and the motion was carried.
Plumber's License Bonds
A Plumber's License ~ond from the Hartford Accident and Indemnity Company for the
McCay Hardware in the amount of $2000.00 was presented by the City Manager. Also one
from the United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company for J. S. Budd in the amount of
$500.00.
The bond of the McCay Hardware was approved as to form by City Attorney Aitken and
the bond of J. S. Budd was approved as to form, if and when the Surety's Corporate Seal
is attached and it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson, that
the bonds be accepted and-approved, subject to the Corporate Seal being placed on the J.S.
Budd Plumber's License Bond, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote;
those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those

Petition - W. O. Bohart
voting No, none.
The petition of W. O. Bohart, stating that he would like to have Pear Street from K
to L, and K Street from Pear to Cedar vacated, and also the alley, was presented and read
by the City Manager. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson,
that the petition be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote;
those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Sorenson; those
voting No, none.

Claims Nos. 8738 to 8971 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows:

and Claims Nos. 330 to 341 in the amount of $849.13 for the operation of the Nursery
School were also presented. The Manager stated tlEt he has audited these claims and
finds them to be true and lawful claims against The City of Bo~eman and recommends that
warrants be drawn for their payment. After examination of the Claims in detail by the
Commissioners, it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that
the claims be approved and warrants drawn for their payment and the motion was carried
by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Soren-
son and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.

Ordinance No. 735 - - Amending Zoning Ordinance No. 711
Ordinance No. 735 amending Ordinance No. 711, making the South half of Block F, Story
Addition a part of Business-Residence District No.2, having been considered by the Commis-
sion at its meeting on the 17th day of August, 1945, the 24th day of August, the 31st and
again at this time. It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Mayor Healy, that
the Ordinance be adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those
voting Aye being Commissioner Sorenson and Mayor Healy; those voting No, Commissioner
Lowe.
Adjournment
There baing no further business to coma before the Commission at this time, it was
moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commis sioner Sorens on that the meeting adjourn
and the motion was carried.
