Bob Risk, Chief Building Official SUBJECT: Authorize Interim City Manager to sign the Avolve Software Corp. contract to upgrade the Building Division’s electronic Plan Review
Software.
MEETING DATE: July 24, 2017
AGENDA ITEM TYPE: Consent RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Interim City Manager to sign the Avolve contract for software upgrade license and support services.
BACKGROUND: The Building Division currently uses version 8.3 of Avolve Software Corporation’s ProjectDox software to facilitate the electronic review of plans. The Building Division will need to upgrade to version 8.6 of the Avolve product in order to fix a number of browser incompatibilities that are impacting our citizens’ ability to fully use the software and
interact with the Building Division plan review staff. This upgrade will also allow the Building Department staff to use newly developed features that will further enhance the ability to serve the citizens of Bozeman in a more efficient and effective way. In addition to the software license, the agreement includes training on the new version 8.6.
UNRESOLVED ISSUES: None. ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the Commission.
FISCAL EFFECTS: The software upgrade license and support services will cost $46,635.00
and will be paid from the Building Division Enterprise Fund. Attachment:
