MEETING DATE: July 24th, 2017
AGENDA ITEM TYPE: Consent
RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Interim City Manager to sign the Notice of Award to Knife River - Belgrade for the Project Total Bid in the amount of $2,232,763.00.
BACKGROUND: Attached is a copy of the Notice of Award for the above referenced project.
The project is for the construction of South 11th Avenue between Campus Boulevard and Graf
Street. It includes a roundabout at the future intersection with Arnold Street, water, sewer, storm sewer, and street lighting throughout the corridor. This will complete a critical north/south connection between Kagy Boulevard and Graf Street.
Bids for the above-referenced project were opened on June 30, 2017 with 2 bids being submitted. The low bid was submitted by Knife River – Belgrade in the amount of $2,232,763.00. The
engineers estimate was $2,419,420.20. The Notice of Award, Award Recommendation from our consultant, and Bid Tabulation for the project is attached.
Final execution of this Notice of Award will be pending the approval of Action Item 2: Resolution 4834, Amending the Budget for the Street Impact Fund for Construction of 11th Avenue. Approval of this item on consent allows for the Notice of Award to be signed if
Resolution 4834 passes.
UNRESOLVED ISSUES: None
ALTERNATIVES: Disapprove
FISCAL EFFECTS: Of the total project cost of $2,232,763.00, $1,774.202.20 will be paid from
the Street Impact Fee Fund, $343,435.31 will be paid from the water fund, and $115,125.49 will
be paid from the wastewater fund.
