The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room,
City Hall Building, Friday evening, December 21st, 1945, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being
present were Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe, City Manager Quinnell,
Ci ty A ttorne y Ai tken, Direc tor of Finance Walter Da vis and the Clerk, when the following
proceedings were had to-wit:
The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner

Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the minutes be approved as read, and the
motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy,
Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Sale of Lots to Stimson
Mr. K. .r. Stimson was present and stated he would pay The City of Bozeman $500.00 for
Lots 7 & 8; Block 31; Capitol Hill Addition, which the City recently purchased at the
county tax sale. This amount being the cost to the City, and the City's only interest being
to secure payment of the delinquent taxes for which this property had been sold by the County,
it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that Mr. Stimson's
offer be accepted and that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare the deed making the
transfer, said deed to be signed for The Ci ty of Bozeman by the Mayor and the Clerk of the
Commission, and the motion was carried by the followin~ Aye and No vote; those voting Aye
being Mayor Healy, Commis sioDer Sorens on and Commis sion er Lowe; those vo ting No, none.
Applications for City Licenses
Th,e followinQ' applicatlons for City Licenses were presented and read:
Warwood and Doig for a period ending December 31st, 1945.
American Legion for City Beer and Liquor License for 1946.
It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the appli-
cations be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the following

Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner
Sorenson; those voting No, none.
The applications for a City Beer and City Liquor License of the Crystal Bar (Harrison
& Apgar) were presented and read. The Manager reported that the Chief of Police was to
have a meeting of all tavern operators within the next few days to discuss with them the
desirability and necessity of conducting their places of business in a manner satisfactory
to city authorities.
It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson
that action on the applications of the Crystal Bar be deferred for one week pepding a report
for Chie f of Police Haas on the proposed meeting and the motion was carried by the following
Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner
Sorenson; those voting No, none.
Request for Reins ta temen t of Streets and Alleys
The Manager reported that Mrs. H. A. Halverson had asked that in the event of her
purchasing approximately 11* acres of land west of Thirteenth Avenue and north of the

Huffine Lane, in The City of Bozeman, if the streets and alleys as originally laid out
in this tract wOlJld be reinstated by the City Commission.
It was explained that the
streets and alleys would have to be rededicated by the owner of record, but that if the
legal requirements can be arranged to the satisfaction of the City Attorney, the Commls...
sion would probably favor the reopening of these streets and alleys.

Wading Pool
The Manager reported that the Junior Chamber of Commerce had requested a decision from
the Commission regarding their offer to build a wading pool in one of the City parks. The
pool to be built in accordance with the sketches heretofore submitted to the Commission
and donated to the City of Bozeman.
This matter having been under consideration by the Commission for some time, it was
moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the offer of the
Jaycees to build a wading pool for the City be accepted, said wading pool to be built at
Bogert Grove within the present swimming pool enclosure, in accordance with plans and
specifications approved by the City Engineer, and the City Manager and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote; those votIng Aye being Mayor Healy~ Commispj oner
Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Traffic Signs near Schools
The matter of appropriate traffic signs to be placed at dangerous intersections near
the City Schools was discussed, and it was thought that signs differing from the regular
traffic sians could be tried out and placed at various places and observed for results.
