HomeMy WebLinkAbout1945-12-28 804 Bozeman, Montana ~ecember 28th, 1945 The Commis sion of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commis ~ion Room, City Hall Building, Friday evaing December 28th, 1945, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being present were Mayor Healy, Commi8sioner Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe, City Manager Quinnell, City Attorney Aitken and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had to-wit: The mjnutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved b~T Commissioner Sorenson, secnnded by Commissioner Lowe that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Reports The following reports for the month of December, 1945 were presented and read: Water Collector Sanitary Inspector for milk inspection It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the reports be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those votirg Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Bonds: Director of Finance and The Cashier The bond of Walter Davis, as Director of Finance, in the amount of $20,000.00 and the bond of L. G. Shadoan, as Cashier and Clerk of the City Commission, in the amount of $2,000, were presented. The bonds were approved as to form by the City Attorney, whereupon, it was moved by Commissioner Lowe~ seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the bonds be approved and accepted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye bein€: Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those votlng No, none. Applic8tions for City Licenses Chief of Police Haas reported to the Commission relative to the meeting of local tavern operators which he called the first of the week, stating he explained and read the ordinance regulating the sale of intoxicating liquor within the City and asked for their full co-operation in enforcing this ordinance. Mr. Haas stated that all a~reed toco-op- erate, and therefore he saw no reason why the licenses now in force should not be renewed. Thereupon the followin~ applications for City Beer and Liauor Licenses for 1946 were presented and read: Harrison & Apgar lToe Toohey M.H. Lee The Arcade It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, ,seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the applica- tions be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. The following appl'ications for City Business Licenses were presented and read: Arcade City Taxi Lines It WaS moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the appli- cations be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye beiner Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commiss:i.oner Lowe; those voting No, none. Traffic Signs near Schools A drawing of a proposed traffic sign to be erected near the Irving School was pre- sented, and examined by the City Commission, and the City Manager was instructed to have I I I r ~ k .~:,:I .1 I 1 305 two of these signs made, the same to be erected near the Irving School as soon as the si~ns are completed. Ad.1ournment There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the meeting adjourn and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
