HomeMy WebLinkAbout1945-02-02 I I I 197 Bozeman, Montana February 2, 1945 The Commission of The Ci ty of Bozeman met in regul~.r session in the Commission Room, City Hall BUilding, Friday evening, February 2nd, 1945. Those being present were Mayor Landoe, COIT;.,.'nissioner Busch, Commis sioner Healy, City J,:anaeer Quinnell, Ci ty Attorney Aitken, and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had to-wit: The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Co~~issioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Busch, that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried. Applications for City Licenses The following applications for City Licenses were presented and read: Busine s s: Super Creamed Ice Cream Mountain View Courts Bittner's Tailor Shop Marshall's K. Lyle Theobald Don M. Langohr Lovelace Motor Supply Dr. E. O. Holm It was moved by CO~'Tlissioner Busch, seconded by Commissioner Healy, that the ap:)lica- tlons be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried. Claims for ~onth Claims Nos. 7665 to 7793 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows: General War Bonds Water W-H Tax Library Park Cemetery Garbage Band Cemetery Suspense $6,682.78 93.75 1,338.93 745.00 533.69 1,575.44 475.26 876.91 510.55 225.00 ;$13,057.31 and Claims Nos. 231 to 244 inc. in the amount of $871.42 for the Nursery School (?roject 24-1,:-5) were Rlso presented. The Man8ger stated he has audited these claims and finds them to be true and lawful claims AgAinst The Cit~r of Bozeman and recommends that warr~mts be drawn for their payment. After examina tion of the cl[-1ims in detail by the Ci ty Com.'11is- sion, it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Cornmlssioner Busch, that the clrctims be approved and warrants drawn for their payment and the motion was carried. Sondo - A. N. Eaas o.nei Con Hollingsworth The bonds of A. N. Hans as Policeman, in the amount of .~lOOO.OO and Con Hollingsworth as City Jailer, in the amount of $1000.00, were presented. The bonds were approved as to form by the City Attorney, whereupon it was moved by Commissioner Busch, seconded by Comm- issioner Healy, that the bonds be accepted and approved and the motion was carried. ...... )' .... .?urchase of FIre Fighting Equipment The City Manager presented and read copies of two letters, which he had written to Charles W. Cook, District Secretary, National Board of Fire Underwriters, Butte and to Mr. Oscar A. Baarson, Dis trict N!anager, War Production BOArd, Helena, regarding the 198 purchase of first class fire fighting equipment for the City. The matter was given careful consideration by the City Commission. A proposed bill to be introduced to tIle present Legislature was presented and read. The bill would permit Cities or Towns to provide the material and do the work I of installing ~ny special improvement under certain conditions, and it was felt that such legislation is needed to discournge collusion among bidders, and the consequent high prices sometimes charged for municipal improvements.
