HomeMy WebLinkAbout1945-04-06 I I I .')4... .7 ,... 1- Bozeman, Mon tana April 6th, 1945 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session, in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Friday evening, April 6th, 1945, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being present were Mayor Landoe, Commissioner Healy, Commissioner Busch, City Manager Quinnell, City Attorney Aitken, City Engineer Thorpe and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had to-wi t: The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Mayor Landoe that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion w~s carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Landoe, Commissioner Healy and Commissioner Busch; those voting No, none. Applications for City Licenses The following applications for City Licenses were presented and read: Jersey Dairy G. W. Harker Bertil Linfield Vic tory Beau ty Shop Bozeman Meat Market Bozeman Granite Works Ray Myerrs Texaco Station Jacobson-McHaney Motor Com. It was moved by Commissio~er Healy, seconded by Mayor Landoe that the applications be approve d and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Landoe, Commissioner Busch and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Reports The following reports for the month of March, 1945 were presented and read: Fire Chief Police Chief Water Collector Cemetery Board Sanitary Inspector Police Judge City Engineer and the yearly report of the City Manager for the skating season. It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Busch that the reports be accepted and ordered filed and themotion was carried by the following dye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Landoe, Commissioner Busch and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Claims for the Month Claims Nos. 7926 to 8076 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows: Band Cemetery Gen era 1 Library Park Water Cemetery Suspense Garbage War Bond W - H Tax $ 511.10 566.57 7,252.35 570.83 582.10 1,597.53 65.00 880.26 93.75 682.80 :II> 12 , 802 .29 To ta 1 and claims Nos. 260 to 275 inclusive in the amount of $914.94 for the Nursery School (FWA Project 24M5) were also presented. The Manager stated that he has audited these claims and finds them to be true and lawful claims against The City of Bozeman and recom- mends.that warrants be drawn for their payment. After examination of the claims in de- tail by the City Commission, it was moved by Commissioner busch, seconded by Commissioner Healy that the claims be approved and warrants be drawn for their payment and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Landoe, Com- missioner Busch and Comrnissiorer Healy; those voting No, Ilone. 21R Use of Siren for V-E Day City Manager Quinnell stated that it had been suggested that the fire siren be used to celebrate V-E Day. It was pointed out that the purpose of the fire siren is to sound an alarm; that the motor might heat considerable from constant blowing and that the noise from the siren could be very disturbing to persons who are 111. It was thought that it might be wise and more practical to toll the fire bell on V-E Day. Use of Drill Hall for Clothes Collection The use of the Drill Hall in the Armory Building by the United National Clothing ./ Collection Committee for war relief was discussed. After consideration, by the Commission, it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Busch that use of the Drill Hall be granted to this Committee provided it does not interfere with other meetings or use for which a fee will be paid, and that the Drill Hall be vacated within thrlty days!,and left in a clean condition, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Landoe, Commissioner Busch and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none.
