HomeMy WebLinkAbout1945-05-25 23~2 Bozeman, Montana May 25th, 1945 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Buildin~, Friday evenln~, May 25th, 1945, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being present were Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Busch, City Manager Quinnell, City Attorney Aitken, Director of Finance Walter Davis, City Engineer Thorpe and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had to-wit; The minutes of the last reg'l11ar session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Busch, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that theminutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Busch and Commissioner Sorenson; those voting No, Done. Report The report of the Sanitary Inspector of milk inspection for the month of April was presented and read~ It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Bus ch tha t the report be a ccepted and ordered fi led and the mo tion was ca rried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being MS;Tor Healy, Commissioner Busch and Commissioner Sorenson; those voting No, none. Cr)mmunica tions A communica tion was read from the Gallatin Valley American Boy Scout Council thanking the City for their co-opera tion in mB king their recent Camporee a success. A similar communication, from the Director of the Cadet Nurses, thanking the City and the Police Department for their co-operation during the Cadet Nurses' parade, was also read. W & C 1945 A list of defective sidewalks, as prepared yearly by the Ci ty Engineer, was presen- ted to the Commission. It was decided that the first week in June be set as the time for the Commission to inspect and pass upon these defective sidewalks. Employees for Summer Recreation 1945. The City Manager announced that the City Recreation Board had recommended the em- ployment of the following persons for the 1945 summer season: Ed Hardin!:!: Martha Ann Mercer Mary L01.1ise Ray Robert Border Mrs. Viola Tallman General Recreation Supervisor Life Guard Life Guard Machine Operator Playground Supervisor a t Beall Park Order to Sell Welfare BuIlding The City Attorney reported tha t the court has ordered the County Comm1s sioners to re-appraise and sell the property known as the Welfare Office located on the corner of Third Avenue and Mendenhall Street, and sug:gested that the Ci ty offer to help wi th the appraisal.
