The Commission of The Ci t:v of Bozeman met in relrular session in the Commission Room,

City Hall Building, F1'iday evening, June 1st, 1945, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being
present were Mayor Heal y, Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Busch, City Manager Quinnell,
City Attorney Aitken, Director of Finance Walter Davis, City ~ngineer Thorpe and the
Clerk, when the followinp' proceed:trigs were had to-wit:
The minutes of the last regular session 'vere read, and it was moved by Commissioner
Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Busch that the minutes be approved AS read, and the
motion was carried by the following Aye and }TO vote; those voting Aye beinp' Mayor Healy,
Commis~ioner Busch and Commissiol"ler Sorenson; those votIng No, none.
Applications for City Licenses
The following applications for City Licenses were presented and read:

It was moved by Commiss ioner Busch, seconded by Cornmissi oner Sorenson tha t the appli-
ca tions be approved an d the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the following
Aye and No vote; thofle voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissiore r Busch and Commiss ioner
Sorenson; those voting No, none.
P. P. Track Crossing at Wallace Avenue
Mr. L. W. Plumm'''r, 317 North Wallace, was present and ask that the spur track of the
N rthern Pacific Railway, cros fling Wallace Aver-ue be tween Main a nd Mendenhall be repaired

by installing a guard rail, as this crossing is very rouP'h and hard on tires. Mr. Plummer
was informed that the matter would be investifrated.

and claims Nos. 291 to 304 inclusive in the amount of $870.11 for May operations of the
Nursery School (Proiect No. 24M5) were also presented. The ManRger stated that he has
audited these claims and finds them to be true and lawful claims ap"ainst The City of
Bozeman and recommends that warrants be drawn for their payment. After e'tamlnation of the
claims in detail by the City Commis:"!ioners, it was moved by Commls~ioner Sorenson, seconded

Valve at Mystic Lake
The Manager reported the t members of the MYf'tic Lake Di tch Associa tion would meet
,Tune 4th, 1945 to discuss the matter of repairing one of the two valve outlets at the

Mystic Lake Darr1. It was explained thAt a val ve stem had in some manner become discon'"
nected, and that a diver mi~ht have to be employed to make the neeessary repairs.

Petition to Extend Alley -- Block 6; B & D
A petition s1.gned by seven property owners in Block 6 of Babcock & Davis Addition
requestin~ that meaSlJres be taken by the City to open an alley in said Block by extending
the present alley north to Peach StreAt, and agreeini'l' to deed the necessar;T amount of
land from their holdings for said alley, was presented and read.

Block would no t at gn the pe ti tion. I twas, thereupon, explained to Mr. Fisher th8 t
althoup:h the City cOl11d condemn this property, and open the alley without these signa...
tures on the petition, it was thought that this procedure should be avoided if possible
because of the expense, and he was asked to again talk the ma tter over wi th these re-
11lctant property owners with a view to reaching a settlement without condemni.ng their
pro pAr ty.
Petition for Sa~itary Sewer on Wept Koch Street
A pe ti tion of property OWnAr:'1 on Was t Koch reaues ting th!"1 t Ii ,sani tary sewer be con-
structed from Eleventh Avenue west l.~ blocks was presented and read. It was stated th'l t
requests had been made thAt the sewer be extended f'urther west on Koch and also south
along a few of the alleys. It was decided to determine approxima te cos ts and the prob-
able boundAries of the proposed district before taking official action in the matter.
