The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room,
City Hall Building, Friday evening, June 8th, 1945, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being pres-
ent were Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Busch, City Manager Quinnell,
City Attorney Aitken, Director of Finance Walter Davis, City Engineer Thorpe and the Clerk
when the following proceedings were had to-wit:
The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner
Busch, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the mir:utes be approved as read, and the
motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Nlayor Healy,
Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Busch; those voting No, none.
American Legion Club 1iceLses
l'.:r.. Geo. Monroe, Trustee of the American Legion, was present to inquire if a City
Club License to sell beer and liquor would be issued to the American Legion to use in
connection with their club rooms at 225 East Main Street.. The Commissioners stated there
would be no objections to issuing the American Legion a license for the sale of beer and
liquor to members of their organization.
Applications for City Licenses
The following applications for City Licenses were presented and read:
Babcock Dairy
Dave Douma
It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Busch that the appll-
cations be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the following
Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and CommissionET
Busch; those voting No, none.
Repcrts
The following reports for the month of May, 1945 were presented and read:
Director of Finance
F'ire Chief
Police Chief
City Engineer
and a report of the meeting of the Mystic Lake Ditch Association.
It was moved by Commissioner Busch, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the reports
be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the follOWing Aye and No vote;
those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Busch and Commissioner SorensOl); those vo-
ting No, none.
Request to Use Armory Drill Hall
A communication from Alfred Abelan asking to use the Drill Hall at the Armory for a
roller skating rink was presented and read.
Ci ty Man.~ger Quinnell stated that he had talked with the Chariman of the Armory Board
to see if the Board would have any objections to using the Drill Hall floor for said roller
rink, and was informed that the Board Chairman would advi Be city au thori ti es regarding the
matter within a few days..
Bids for Garbage Disposal
The Manager stated that this was the time and place set for the opening of bids for
the disposal of garbage from the residential properties fDr a 12-months period ending Jilly
1, 1946.. The affidavit of notice to bidders was presented, whereupon, it was moved by
Commissioner Busch, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the bids be opened and read~
and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor

Commissioner Busch and Commissioner Sorenson; those voting No, none.
The bid of J. S. Miles being the only bid submitted was opened and read, and found
to be as follows:
For Garbage Disposal for 12-months
period ending, July 1st, 1946 -----
$ 12,445.00.
After discussion of the bid submitted, it was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded
b:l Commissioner Busch that it' be t.aken under advisement and the motion was carried by
the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Busch
and Commissioner Sorenson; those voting No, none.
Police Reserve Fund
The matter of the administration of the Police Reserve Fund was discussed, and the
City Attorney was instructed to prepare a suitable ordinance to provide for the control
and administration of this fund.
Adjournment
There belng no further business to come before the Board at this tlme, it was moved
by Commissioner Busch, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the meeting adjourn and the
motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy,
Commissioner Busch and Commissl.oner Sorenson; those voting No, none.
