I Have met with nothing but frustrations. 1.I met with Chuck Winn. He did not appear to be sympathetic with my desire to be grandfathered. He finally suggested I could get the Heath Department Inspection and a bed tax account. 2. I contacted the Health Department. Fred was very friendly and helpful but said I would need the Fire Inspection first. 3. I contacted the Fire Department and spoke with Jack Coburn. He was also willing but said he would first need the business license application. 4. I went to get the business license application for STRs and they refused to give it to me. I told them I was attempting to get into compliance so that I could be grandfathered in. A arrogant young man asked me who said I could be grandfathered and I told him Carsten Taylor. He said Carsten was wrong about that. I then asked that he gjve me the application paper. I was not expecting them to issue it I only wanted the application. He haughtily ripped it off the tablet and gave it to me. It is sitting on my desk while I wonder what to do next. Clearly there is a glitch in what you proposed in bringing all the under the radar people into the open and getting them grandfathered. I am reminded of the Chinese Communist "Year of Flowering" when they invited all the artists and poets who were dissidents to come out and be appreciated in the new climate of openness. When they published their works they were all rounded up and shot. I don't expect to be shot but I am pretty frustrated and feel a pretty strong case developing for "Regulatory Taking" of my rights as a property owner. This kind of bureaucracy is effectively disenfranchising me and depriving me of the utility and value of my property. I am at an impasse on the path you said would be open to me. Please advise me and/or your planning department employees. Thank you. Deanna Campbell
