The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room,
City Hall Building, Friday evening, August 18th, 1944, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being
present were Mayor Landoe, Commissioner Healy, Commissioner BusCh, City Manager Quinnell,
City Attorney Aitken, City Engineer Thorpe, Director of Finance Walter Davis and the Clerk
when the following proceedings were bed to-wit:
The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner
Busch, seconded by Commissioner Healy that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion
was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Landoe, Commis-
sioner Busch and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none.
Ordinance No. 730 -- Final Passage
The Manager stated this was the time and place set for the final passage of Ordinance
No. 730, the annual appropriation ordinance for the fiscal year'ending, June 30th, 1945.
He presented affidavit of publication of the Ordinance and Ordinance No. 730, entitled:
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONIES FOR THE SUPPORT AND MAINTENANCE OF
THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA FOR THE FIS-
CAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 1945.
It was moved by Commissioner Busch, seconded by Commissioner Healy that the Ordinance
be finally passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote;
those voting Aye being Mayor Landoe, Commissioner Busch and Commissioner Healy; those
voting No, none.
Reports
The Director of Finance's report for the month of July and the City Engineer's annual
report were presented and read. It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commis-
sioner Busch that the reports be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by
the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Landoe~ Commissioner Busch
and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none.
Request for Sewer Connection
A written request from Mr. C. W. Francis, who lives nortb of the City Limits, asking
permissioY' to connect to the sanitary sewer was presented and read. It was pointed out
that all property in the City is taxed for the maintenance of the sewers and the disposal
plant, and there would not be any way that Mr. Francis's property could be assessed by the
City of Bozeman for its share of this maintenance cost, whereupon, it was moved by Commls-
sioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Busch that the request be denied and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Landoe, Commissioner
Busch and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none.
Bond for Garbage Contract
A continuation certificate of the bond of J. S. Miles in the amount of $2,536.25 for
the faithful performance of the garbage contract was presented. The certificate was ap-
proved by the City Attorney, whereupon, it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by
Commissioner Busch that the certificate be accepted and the motion was carried by the fol-
lowing Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Landoe, Commissioner Busch and Com-
missioner Healy; those voting No, hone.

There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was

moved by Commissioner H~aly, seconded by Commissioner Busch that the meeting adjourn and
the motion was carried by t he following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor
