HomeMy WebLinkAbout1944-10-06 1 I I, :. - 167 Bozeman, Mon tana October 6th, 1944 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular ses~ion in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Friday evening, October 6th, 1944, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those belng present were Mayor Landoe, Commissioner Healy, City Manager Quinnell, City Attorney Aitken, Director of Finance Walter Davis, City Enginner Thorpe and the Acting Clerk, when the following proceedings were hRd to-wit: The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Mayor Landoe that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the following ~ye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Landoe and Commis- sioner Healy; those voting No, none. Intersection Rouse & Peach Mr. Fred E. Simpson, who owns property at the northwest corner of Peach and Rouse Avenue, appeared before the Commisf'lion and stated that, in order to eliminate the off-set in the street at this intersection, he would deed to The City of Bozeman, for street :purposes, a triangular s trip of ground abu tting the northwe~ t corner of this intersec tion, if The City of Bozeman would, in return, move the residence 10c8 ted on this ground to a new location and connect the water and sanitary sewer to the house at its new location. After discussion, Mr. Simpson, was asked to submit figures on the cost of moving the house so the t a reliable estimate of the cost of the transaction could be prepared, which would enable the City to reach a decision relative to thematter. Care Garbage Band War Bond W-H Tax $ 1,004.02 7,221.21 487.27 705.78 1,663.32 10.00 180.00 879.61 5.65 75.00 574.14 $ 12,826.00 Total and claims Nos. 170 to 183 in the amount of $826.09 for the Nursery School (Project 24M5). The Manager stated he has audited these claims and finds them to be true and lawful claims against The City of Bozeman and recommends that warrants be drawn for their payment. After examination of the cla"ms in detail by the City ~ommission, it was moved by Comrni8sioner Commissioner Healy, seconded by Mayor Landoe that the claims be approved and warrants drawn for their payment and the motion was carried by the following; Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Landoe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Resolution No. 549 W & C Assessment The Manager stated this was the time and place set for hearing protests to the final passage of Resolution No. 549, W & C assessment for 1944. He stated further th8t no protests had been filed and no one was present to protest. He presented the affidavit of ~ililication of the Notice and Resolution No. 549, entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZI<,'MAN LEVYING AND ASSESSING A SPECIAL ASSESSMENT OF TAXES UPON CERTAIN PROPERTIES IN THE CITY OF BOZEIVTJ\:N, COUNTY OF GALLATIN, STATE OF MONTANA, TO DEFRAY THE COST OF CONSTRUCTING AND INSTALLING AND/OR REPAIRING MISCELLANEOUS SIDEWALKS AND CURBS DTffiING THE YEAR 1944. 16R It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Mayor Landoe that the Resolution be finally passed and adopteo and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Landoe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Examination of Depository Bonds The Director of Finance presented copies of the Custodian's Receipts of Depository Bonds held by the various Bozeman banks which were examined and checked by the Commission. After checking the list, it was moved by Mayor Landoe, seconded by CommissionerHealy that the list of securities be approved and incorporated in the minutes and the motion was carried by the folloWing Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Landoe and Commis- 1 sioner Healy; those voting No, none. Fire School at Polson An invitation to the Fire School to be held in Polson, October 12th, 13th and 14th, was read. The commission expressed approval of the Fire Chief attending this school.
