October 20th, 1944
The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room,
City Hall Building, Friday eveninp" October 20th, 1944, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being
present were Mayor Landoe, Commissionn.r Busch, Commissioner Healy, City Mana~er Quinnell,
City Attorney Aitken and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had to"'wit:
The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner
Healy, seconded by Commissioner Busch thAt the minutes be approved as read, and the mo-
tion was carried by the following i:l.ye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Landoe,
Commissioner Healy and Commissioner Busch; those voting No, none.

Claims
The claim of The Lovell Clay Products Company in the amount of $323.14 for sewer
pipe was presented. The Mannger stated there was a cash discount of $11.64 for prompt
payment, and recommended that the claim be paid at this time. The claim of A. Tobin
in the amount of $425.00 and The City of Bozeman for $254.65 for the construction of Misc.
Walks and Curbs for 1944, to be pAid in W & C Warrants, were also presented. After exam-
ina tion of the claims in detail by the C1 ty Commie sion, and upon it being shown the t the
walk costing 32~ per sq. ft. had been constructed as requested by Montana State College
and at state expense, and thAt the walk on North Grand had been constructed for abutting
owners at 30~ per sq. ft., ,it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner
Busch that the claims be approved and warrants drawn for their payment ant the motion was
carried by the following Aye and Novote; those voting Aye being Mayor Landoe, Commis8ioner
Healy and Commissioner Busch; those voting No, none.
Applications for City Licenses
The following applications for City Licenses were presented and read:
Ark Second Hand Store
Saunder'e Store for t year
Bozeman Sheet Metal Works for; year
It was moved by Commissioner Busch, seconded by Commissioner Healy that the applica-
tions be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the following
Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Landoe, Commissioner Busch and Commis~ioner

Healy; those voting No, none.
Deed to"Stevenson 80"
The City Attorney stated that, in accordance with the Director of Finance's report,
Kenneth Kraft had completed his payments on the contract for the farm known as the
Stevenson 80; tha t the warran ty deed had been prepared conveying ti tIe of said farm, which
should be turned over to Kenne th Kraft, when properly execu ted.
Thereupon, it was moved
by Commissioner BuSCh, seconded by Commissioner Healy that the Mayor and the Clerk of the
Commis8ion be authorized to execute the deed for The City of Bozeman and to deliver the
same to Mr. Kraft, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those
voting Aye being Mayor Landoe, Connnissioner Healy and Commissioner Busch; those votil'\g

Traffic -- Intersection Peach and Rouse
Mr. Fred Simpson, who appeared before the Commission October 6th, and for the purpose
of straightening th8t part of Rouse Avenue which arnlts his property, had offered a tri-
angular strip of his land, comprlsinp:: sll~htly more than one-third of Lot 13; Block 43;
Irnes Addition, 10c8 ted at the northwest corner of the intersec tion of Peach and Rouse Avenues,

in return for the cost of moving his house to a new location and the construction of a
new sewer and water connectiore to the said house when so moved, was present to report
on the cost of movin~ the house. He said that Mr. Cotton, a housemover, had offered
to move the house for $300, and that Mr. Border, City Water Sllperintendent, had stated
that the sewer and water connections would cost approximately ~100.00. After discussion
it was thought thAt $400.00 mlght be more than this piece of property would be worth to
the City for the purpose mentioned, and thRt fUrther study should be WE de of the 'problem,
which might include the purchase of property on the opposite corner in addition to that
offered and the ma tter was, therefore, taken under advisement.
Springbrook Creek -- Tile Conduit repaired.
The Manager reported th~t the 10-inch title line on the east side of Eleventh Avenue,
had been repaired and placed in operation. He explainpd that all the water from the
springs south of College Street, consisting what is known as Springbrook Creek, is now
passing through this tile line; but that considerable water was coming from a canal west
of the City and running through the ditch along the west side of Eleventh Avenue.
Adjournment
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was
moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commiss1.oner Busch thqt the meeting adjourn and
the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor
Landoe, Commissioner Busch and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none.
