Commission Room, City Hall Bullding, Friday evening, January 2lst, 1944, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being present were Mayor Landoe, Commissioner Healy, Commissioner Lowe, City Manager Quinnell, City Attorney Aitken, Director of Finance Walter Davis and the Clerk, when the follow- ing proceedings were had to-wit: The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by-Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Healy that the minutes be approved as read, and themo- tion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Landoe, Commissioner Healy and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. 1 Reports The following reports for the month of December, 1943 were presented and read: Fire Chief Nursery School Project It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the reports be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Landoe, Commissioner Healy and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Applications for City Licenses The following applications for City Licenses were presented and read: Aileen's H C Skarie M CSmiley H:. L. Casey Don M. Langohr Frank J. Trunk Richardson's Oxford Hotel Dr. W E Dean Babcock Grocery Lovelace Studio West Side Grocerr Chgo, Mil., St. P. & Dokken Funeral Home The Artcraft Printers Gallatin Chick Hatchery Gallatin Valley Seed Co. Heetderks-Scherer Clinic Northern Pacific Ry. Co. Pac, Ry. Company 1 together with the application of the Park Ice and Cold Storage for a wholesale Beer License. It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the appli- cations be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the follow- ing Aye and No vo te; those vo ting Aye being Ma yor Lando e, Commissioner heal y and Com... missioner Lowe; those voting No, none. The following applications for City Licenses to operate filling stations were presented and read: Gas Co-op McCulloch Conoco Station Long's Tire Shop Belshaw for Tires The Manager stated these filling stations applications were based on the reduction of the basic license fee as authorized in Ordinance No. 726, adopted January 14th, 1944. After discussion, it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Healy that the applications be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Landoe, Commis- sioner Healy and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. 1 Nursery School The Manager presented forms received January 17th from the Federal Works Agency containing an offer of the Federal Government to contribute to The City of Bozeman $4,915.00 for the maintenance and operation of its War-time Child Care Project (Nursery School) from May 1, 1943 to December 3lst, 1943. It was explained that these forms were to replace similar offers previously made by the government, which have recently 1 I 1 95 been withdrawn. Mayor Landoe then introduced the following resolution accepting the Federal Govern- ment's offer to contribute to to $4,915.00 as its share of the cost of operating the Nursery School (Project 24-MS) from May 1, to December 31, 1943, without reservation: RESOLUTION "WHEREAS, There has been filed with the Federal Works Agency for and on behalf of The City of Bozeman, (herein called the "Owner"), an application for Federal assistance under the War Public Works program, and the United States of America, acting by and through the Federal Works Administrator, has transmitted to the Owner an offer of Federal assistance ,in connection with the public works referred to in said application and described 'in said Offer, .Elich Offer has been read by the Clerk of this Commission at this meeting of the Commission and fully considered by the Commission insvery res. pect in accordance with the pertinent rules of procedure and legal requirements; and WHEREAS, said Offer has been made a part of the public records of the Owner; and WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable and 1n the public interest that said Offer be acoepted; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THIS COMMISSION, as the governing body of ,the Owner, The Oi ty of Bozeman, that the said Offer of the United Sta tea of America', which is hereby referred to and by such reference made a part of this Resolution, be and the same 1s hereby accepted wi thout reserve tion or qualifies tion; and be it further RESOLVED, that this resolution be entered at length upon the proceed- ings of this meeting of the Commission ~nd that a copy thereof, duly certified by the Clerk of this Co~lssion, and to which shall be annexed a copy of said Offer of Federal Assistance be forwarded to the Federal Works Administrator.
