HomeMy WebLinkAbout1944-02-18 1 I 1 101 Bozeman, Montana February 18th, 1944 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Friday evening, February 18th, 1944, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being present were Mayor Landoe, Commissioner Healy, Commissioner Lowe, City Attorney Aitken, City Manager Quinnell, Director of Finance Walter Davis and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had to-wit: The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Healy that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the follOWing Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Landoe, Com- missioner Healy and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Appointment .-- Airport Board Dean Chaffin, Chairman of the Airport Board, appeared before the Commission and ask that an appointment be made to the Airport Board to fill the unexpired term of G. C. Waite, who recently resigned. Mr. Chaffin stated further that as another member, E.A. Dye, has left town, they will need this new member to be appointed by the City Commission, in order to have a quorum for their regular meeting to be held next week. Thereupon, the Mayor announced the appointment of Don Bennett to fill the unexpired term of G. C. Waite. It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the appointment be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Landoe, Commissioner Healy and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Applications for City Licenses The following applications for City Licenses were presented and read: ,T. H. Cox E. R. Grlp:g S te te Au to Co. Williams Texaco The Bonnet Nook Nash-Finch Co. It waS moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded b~" Commissioner Lowe that the applica- tions be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Landoe, Commissiorer Healy and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Post-War Planning Board The City Manager read a list of the nominees for the Post-War Planning Board. After some discussion it was decided that one member should represent the three local labor unions and that these locals should be asked to select this labor representative. To allow time for such action by the labor groups, it was decided to postpone the appoint- ment of planning B08rd members until the next meeting. Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commis sioner Heal y, seconded by Commiss ioner Lowe tha t tr1e meeting adjourn and the ~otlon was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye beIng Mayor Landoe, Commissioner Healy and Commissioner Lowe; those v~ting No, none.
