HomeMy WebLinkAbout1944-03-31 1 1 1 iia Bo'Zsman, Mon tana March 31st, 1944 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Friday evening, March 3lst, 1944, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being present were Mayor Landoe, Commissioner Healy, Commissioner Lowe, City Manager Quinnell, City Attorney Aitken, City Engineer Thorpe, Director of Finance Walter Davis and the Clerk when the following proceedings were had to-wit: The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Healy that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Landoe, Commis- sioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Report The report of the Librarian for the month of March, 1944 was presented and read. It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the report be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Landoe, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Mea t Inspec tion The City Manager read a lett0r from Mr. Butler, State Health Inspector, stating that all meats purchased by the Federal Government has to be inspected; that it is illegal to transport meat from one state to another without its being inspected; that meat inspection for cities is very desirable, especially for the by~products such as hamburger. After discussion, it wes decided that the matter of providing for local meat inspec- tion ShOlJld be taken under advisement and given further study. Springbrook Creek . The City Attorney reported that after further investigation regarding the owners of water rights in Springbrook Creek, the records show that only T. M. Gilkerson has filed a claim for 200 inches of this creek water; that this property has now been transferred to Alfred Nichols. The matter was discussed and it was decided that when the weather permits, a city~ county survey should be made of the ditch and surrounding area in order to secure practical and definite information for use in planning for the safer handling of Springbrook Creek floods, either by diverting the head waters or in some other manner that will protect the City's interest.
