March 19th, 1943
The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room,
City Hall Building, Friday evening, March 19th, 1943, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being
present were Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Landoe, City Attorney
Aitken, City Manager Quinnell, City Engineer Thorpe, Director of Finance Walter Davis
and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had to-wit:
The minutes of the last;- regular session were read, and it was moved b;.' Commissioner
Sorenson, seconded by- Commissioner Landoe tha t the minutes be approved as read and the
motion was carried b;,T the following Aye - and No vote; those vot::i.ng Aye being Mayor, Busch,
Commis .~::ioner Sorenson and Commi s sion er Lancloe; those voting No, none.

The following applications for City Licenses were presented and read:

It was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the
applications be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the fo1-
lowing Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and
Commisr'ioner Landoe; those voting No, none.
Victory Gardens
The Manager reported tha t during the week the Victory Garden COT!1,mi ttee had a meeting
and had tentatively decided to select certain vacant lots or tracts in different parts of
town where city wa ter is available and to divide these trac ts into Vie tory Garden 1mi ts
of not to exceed 2500 square feet; and tha t the plowing and harrowing of these uni ts
could probeb 1 y be Ie t in one con trac t. I t had also been suge:;es,ted tha t some one person
should be held responsible to the city for the proper handling and payment of the water
supply for each tract.
Sen tence SUB pended
The Mayor announced that upon the recommendation of the authorities in chJrge he
had ffilspended 30 days of the sentence against Andrew Cox, and that Mr. Cox had paid the
$100 fine assessed against him.
hecreation Program
The Manacrer road a communica tion sta ting a public meeting is to be hald on March 25th
to discuss a year-round physical educational and recreational program for Bozeman children
and that a t this me e ting a committee from the ci ty' s service organ1za tions would try to
determine the wishes of the comnnmi ty regarding a broader and more comprehensive proQ'ram
for combininR: the efforts and resources of the ci ty and the school di s tr:i.c t in c8rrying
on this important work.
Adjournment
There be:i.ng no f'llrthor business to come before the Commission at this time, it was
moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissionor Sorenson that the meeting adjourn
and the motion was carried b;T the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Busch,
Sorenson Lan those voting No, none.
