The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room,
City Holl Building, Friday evening. April 2nd, 1943, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. T]:1ose being
present were Mayor Busch, Commissioner Landoe, Commissioner Sorenson, City Manager (~uinnell,
City Attorney Aitken, Director of Finance 'ivalter Davis, City Engineer Thorpe and the Clerk
when the followinf proceedings were had to-wit:
'1'he minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved b;:l Commisc,ioner
Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Landoe that the inutes be approved as read, and the
motion was carried by the follovving Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being rlIayor BUSCh,
Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none.
Application for City License
The application of "The Campus" for a City License was presented and read. It was
moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Landoe that the applications be
approved and the license issued and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No
vote; tho se vo ting Aye being Mayor Bus ch, Commi ssioner Sorenson and Commis s ioner Landoe;
those voting No, none.
Claims for the Month
Claims Nos. 4369 to 4494 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows:

'1'he Manager stated he h8.s auriited these claims and finds them to be true and lawful
claims agalnst The City of Bozeman and recommends that warrants be drawn for their payment.
After examination of the claims in detail by the Commission, it was moved by Comrnissioner
Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson tha t the claims be allowed and warran ts be drawn
for their payment and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting
Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none.
Stop Sier -- Mendenhall & Wallace
The Manager st8.ted the matter of removal of the stop signs at the intersection of
'\~rall'lce and :filendenhall Streets had been investi["ated, and it was the opinion of the City
Officials who made the investin:a tion tha t 'the removal or rearrangement of the s top signs
at this intersection might lead to con~lsion and create a dangerous condition; it was
thought therefore, thnt further study should be made of traffic control at this intersect10n
before a definite decision is reached regarding a change in the present location of the
s top signs.

It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Landoe that the
reports be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye
and No vote; those voting Aye bei ng Mayor BUSCh, CommissIoner Landoe and C:ommissioDer
Sorenson; those voting N,.." none.

Leaves of Absences
The Manager presented the renuests of N. E. Nelson, Fireman, and A. N. Haas,
Policeman, for leaves of absence, to join the armed forces.
It was moved by CommissToner Landos, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the re-
quests be granted and th'1t the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a resolution cover-
ing similar leaves of absence for the duration, to all regular employees of 'l'he C1 ty of
Bozeman who join the armed forces, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and
No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Bucch, Commissioner ';:;'orenro n and Commissioner
Landoe; those voting No, nOTa
Curbing S.I.~. No. 3~3
A communiCt~tion from Mr. D. .T. PIetsch, 1022 South Fifth Avemle urginf, that the
defective curbing in Special Improvement District No. 333 be replaced according to the
contrac t, was presented and read. The Manager expla ined tha tall pa.rties to the con-
tract, including the bondsmen had previously notified and that copies of this communi-
cation had been sent to each. It was expected that the necessary replacements or repairs
would be made as soon as weather conditions became favorable for this sort of work.
Appointments
The Mayor announced the following appointments to theOemetery Board.

for terms of three years.
It was moved by Commissioner Lancloe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the
appointments be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote;
those voting Aye being Mayor Thlsch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lanclos;
those voting No, none.
