HomeMy WebLinkAbout1943-04-16 I I I Bozeman, Montana April 16th, 1943 17 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Friday evening April 16th, 1943, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being present were Mayor Thlsch, Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Landoe, City Attorney Aitken, Director of Finance Walter Davis, City ~ngineer Thorpe and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had to-wit: The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was ~ved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Busch too t the minutes be approved as read and the mo- tion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, and Commissioner Sorenson; those voting No, none. Applications for City Licenses The following applications for City Licenses were presented and read: Obie Signs .J. B. Neil J. .J. McKa Y R. J. Davidson Electric Shoe Shop Calfee Printing Service Gallatin Cllick Hatchery Montana Air Conditioning It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Mayor Busch that the applications be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch and Commissioner Sorenson; those voting No, none. Repor ts The report of the Building Inspector for the months of October, November and December 1942, and January, February and MarCh, 1943 was presented and read. It was moved by Com- missioner Sorenson, s ecnnded by Mayor Busch the t the report be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch and Commissioner Sorenson; those voting No, none. Commissioner Landoe entered and was noted present Communication -- Storage Tank A oommunication from the Gallatin Farmer's Service Station was presented and read requesting the Ordinance be amended to permit the installation of an above-ground storage tank for Diesel Fuel, and stating further that at the present time pumps could not be ob- tained for an under-ground storage tank. The Commission was of the opinion that the Ordinance should not be amended to permit above ground tanks, and no action was taken. Commission Resolution No. 525 -- Leaves of Absences The City Attorney as instructed presented and read the resolution granting leaves of absence to permanent employees of The City of Bozeman, entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEN~N DECLARING IT TO BE THE INTENTION AND POLICY OF THE CITY TO GRANT LEAVES OF ABSENCE AND ASSURE RE- EMPLOYMENT TO PERMANENT EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY WHO ARE INDUCTED INTO THE LAND AND NAVAL FORCES OF THE UNITED STATES DURING TIm PRESENT WAR WITH GERMANY AND JAPAN. It was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the reso- lution be passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Landoe and Commissioner Sorenson; those voting No, none. 18 Ordinance No. 720 -- Curfew An Ordinance requiring minor children under the age of sixteen to be off the streets and other public places between the hours of 10 P.M. and 4 A.M. was presented and read, entitled: AN ORDINANCE REGULATING AND CONTROLLING THE BEING IN OR UPON TIm STREETS, ALLEYS, PARKS AND OTHER PUBLIC PLACES OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN AT UNSEEMLY HOURS BY UNATTENDED AND UNSUPERVISED MINORS UNDER THE AGE OF SIXTEEN YEARS, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NUMBER 193. It was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the Ordinance be passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following il.ye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none. Swimming I~structions The Ma'yor announced that a representative of the American Red Cross had informed him that funds up to $300 would be available towards paying for swimming instructions at the swimming pool thia summer; that the plan could be worked out through Mr. John Lyman, President of the Local Chapter of the Red Cross and the Recreation Board. Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commie s ioner Landoe, seconded by Commie sioner Sorenson tha t the meeting ad .journ and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those votin~ No, none.
