Use of Armory Building.
The Manager reported that Dean Chaffin, of the Civil Service Corp had inquired
about the use of the Armory Drill Hall for Saturday nite dances for the en~ertainment of
the Army Air Corp stationed at the College; also, that the Spanish-American War Veterans
wnated to use the Drill Hall for their Convention here in June.
The Commission expressed approval of the use of the drill hall rent-free for these
purposes.
The Manager reported that the bill for use of the Armory Drill Hall by the Veterans
of Foreign Wars for their annual dance held on March 20th,had not, been paid; that there
had been a misunderstanding as to the equipment to be furnished in connection with the
renting of the premises, and the t when it came time for the dance there being no piano,
dancing had to be postponed until one could be secured and by the t time the crowd bad
gone; therefore the drill 'ball was only used for a ahort time. The Manager stated that
in this case he felt the regular $20.00 fee should be substantially reduced.
