The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room,
City Hall Building, Friday evening, April 30th, 1943, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being
present were Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; City Attorney
Aitken, .City Manager Quinnell, Director of Finance Walter Davis, City Engineer Thorpe
and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had to-wit:
The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner
Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the minutes be approved as read, and the
motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch,
Commissioner Landoe and Commissioner Sorenson; those voting No, none.
Zoning -- Request for Rezoning
Mr. Garfield Carlson appeared before the Commission and asked that the boundaries of
the Industrial District be extended to include his property at 526 East Lamme, which ad-
joins the Ggllatin Farmer'e Company property located 'in the Industrial District; that in
this case the Gallatin Farmer's Company will purchase his property. ,

Mr. Carlson was informed that the changing of the district boundaries should originate
with the Board of Adjustment .and, he was advised to contact this Board.
Report
The reports of, the Librarian for the months of March and April, 1943 were presented
and read. It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner ~andoe that
the reports be accepted and ordered fned and the motion was carried by the following Aye
and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busoh, Commissioner Landoe and Commissioner
Sorenson; those voting No, none.
Applications for City Licenses
The following applications for City Licenses were presented and read:

Eag 1e He t Works
George English Tin Shop
Schraeder's Refrigerator Service
It was moved by Commissioner Landoe, sec-:mded by Commissioner Sorenson that the appli-
cations be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the following
Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenron and Commis-
sioner Landoe; those voting No, none.
Dogs runring at Large
The matter of dogs running at large in the City during the growing season for gardens
was discussed by the Commission. The Manager explained that cities throughout the country
are passing ordinances prohibiting the running at large of dogs; and many more are passing
similar ordinances for the protection of Victory Gardens.
A proposed resolution prohibiting dogs from running at large was read. After discus-
sion, it was moved by Commissioner Landos, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the City
Attorney be instructed to draft an emergency ordinance similar in content to the resolu-
tion presented prohibiting dogs from running at large from May 10th, until August 1, and
the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor
Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none.

Firemen
The Manager announced that Jack Sweeney was taking N. E. Nelson' s place as fireman
and that William Spieth was working as fireman for John Schmitz who had an accident wit~

his hand will not be able to work for about three months.

There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it
was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Comnissioner Sorenson that the meeting
adjourn and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting
Aye bel"g Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those voting
No, none.
