HomeMy WebLinkAbout1943-05-28 30 Bozeman, Montana May 28 th, 1943 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular seeslon in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Friday evening May 28th, 1943, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being present were Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Landoe, City Attorney Aitken, City Manager Quinnell, City Engineer Thorpe, and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had to-wit: The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Landoe that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landos; those voting No, none. Application for City License The folloWing applications for City Licenses were presented and read: Model Barber Shop South Willson Conoco Service Hauseman's & McCalla It was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the ap- plications be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the foIbwing Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner ~orenson and Commissioner Landoe; thosevoting No, none. A list of unpaid City Licenses were presented and read. It was decided that the City Attorney'be instructed to institute proceedings against the proprietors of all business establishments where city licensee have not been paid, and to file complaints and secure warrants for the arrest of any such proprietor who shall operate his business without the proper city license after June 1st, 1943. Endorsement of N(')rthwest Airline Extension The Manager read communications from Congressmen Wheeler and Murray pledging their , endorsement, as requested by the City, to the application of the Northwest Airline for an extension of their air route to Nome, Alaska and the Far East. Defective Curb SID Nos. 333 & 335. A copy of a letter written by City Attorney Aitken to the Standard Construction Com- pany regarding the repair of curbs in Special Improvement Districts No. 333 & 335 was read. The letter stated that the City would insist that the necessary curb repairs be made by the Company within the next few months, and not later than this summer. W & C 1943 A list, prepared by the City Engineer, of defective sidewalk and curb in the City was presented. It was decided that the City Commission would inspect the defective walks in the near future, but no definite date was set. Nursery School The Manager reported on a recen t meeting wi th the School Board in connec tion with the Board's application to federal authorities as sponsor for the Nursery School Project for the coming year, and the offer of the U. S. Government of $3,700.00 in Lanham Act funds to aid this project. He stated the Board had taken no definite action regarding the matter at this meeting, but that another meeting would be held on Tuesday, June 1st, when a final & definite decision would be reached. Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the Meeting adjourn and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none.
