HomeMy WebLinkAbout1943-06-18 36 Bozeman, Montana June 18th, 1943 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Connnission Room, City Hall Building, Friday evening, June 18th, 1943, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being present were Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; Cat:r'Attorney Aitksn, City Mana~er Quinnell, City Engineer Thorpe, Director of Finance Walter Davis and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had to-wit: The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none. I City Claim Fire Relief Claim No. 4806 to the Bozeman Fire Department Relief Association in the amount of $1,785.02 was presented. After examination of the Claim by the City Commission, it was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the claim be allowed and a warrant drawn for its payment and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none. Application 'for City License The following applications for City Licenses were presented and read: 3m! th Furni tl.lre Greyhound Lines Husky Service Station Bozeman Quality Market B-B Cafe H G Darlinton It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Landoe that the appli- cations be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor BusCh, Commissioner Landoe and Commissioner Sorenron; those voting No, none. I Reports The following reports for the month of May were presented and read: Employment Officer Health Officer It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Landoe that the reports be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor buSCh, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none. Resolution No. 526 -- Snow Assessment The Manager stated this was the time and place set for the hearing of protests to the final adoption of Resolution No. 526 Javylng the assessment for the removal of snow from sidewalks for the year 1942-1943. He presBnted the affidavit of publication of the Notice to property owners, and staten that no one was present to protest and no protests had been filed. Thereupon, it was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION:F THE CITY OF BOZEMAN LEVYING AND ASSESSING A SPECIAL ASSESSMENT OF TAXES UPON CERTAIN PROPERTIES IN THE CITY OF BOZE- MAN, COUNTY OF GALLATIN, STATE OF MONTANA, TO DEFRAY THE COST OF REMOVAL OF SNOW FOR THE YEAR 1942-1943, PURSUANT TO PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCE NO. 502, ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE REMOVAL OF SNOW FROM THE SIDEWALKS IN THE CITY OF BOZEMAN AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 385, ENTITLED: 'AN ORDI":. NANCE PROVIDING FOR THE REMOVAL OF SNOW AND ICE, DIRT, FILTH AND OTHER OB- STRUCTION FROM SIDEWALKS ON MAIN STREET BE'IWEEN WALLACE AVENUE AND FOURTH A VF~'UE. IN THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, ,tt . I that Resolution No. 526, entitled: I I I 37 be finally passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe;thdse voting No, none. Resolution No. 527 -- Sprinkling Assessment The Manager stated this was the time and place set for the hearing of protests to the final adoption of the Resolution levying the assessment for sprinkling streets in the var- ious street sprinkling districts for the year 1943. He presented the affidavit of ~lbli- cation of the Notice to property ~wners, and stated that no protests had been flIed. As no one appeared to protest the passage of this resolution, it was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Landoe that the Resolution No. 527, entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE C01mISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN LEV1~NG AND ASSESSING A SPECIAL ASSESSMENT OF TAXES UPON ALL THE PROPERTY IN STRP~r;;T SPRINKLING DISTRICTS OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, COUNTY OF GALLATIN, STATE OF MONTANA, TO DEFRAY SEVENTY+ FIVE PERCENT OF THE COST OF SPRINKLING STREETS WITHIN SAID STREET SPRINKLING DISTRICTS OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN FOR THE YEAR 1943, be finally passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commlssiorer Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those voting no, none. Resolution No. 528 -- Parking Maintenance The Manager stated this was the time and place set for the hearing of protests to the final passage and adoption of the Resolution levying the assessment for parking maintenance in the various parking maintenance districts. He presented the affidavit of publication of the notice and stated that no protests had been filed. No person appearing to protest at this meeting, it was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that Resolution No. 528, entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN LEVYING AND ASSESSING A SPECIAL ASSESSMENT OF TAXES UPON ALL THE PROPERTY IN SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICTS OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, COUNTY OF GALLATIN, STATE OF MONTANA, FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF PARKINGS TO DEFRAY THE COST OF MAINTAINING THE PARKINGS WITHIN SAID SPECIAL IMPROVEMENTS DISTRICTS OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN FOR THE YEAR 1943, be finally passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and CommiSSioner Landoej those ., votj,ng No, none. W & C -- 1943 Inpsection The CI.ty Commission set fuesday afternoon, June 22nd, as the date for the inspection of defective sidewalk and curb in the City. AdJournment There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by dommlsaioner tandoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the meeting adjourn and the motion was car~ied by the follOWing Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoej those voting No, none.
