The Commission of The Cit'T of Bozemfln met in regular session in the Commission Room,
City Hall Building, Friday evenin~, July 16th, 1943, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being
present were Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Landoe. City Manager
~linnell, City Attorney Aitken, City Engineer Thorpe and the Clerk, when the following
proceedln~s were had to-wit:
The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commls~ioner
Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Landoe that the minutes be approved as read, and the
motion was carried by the followinp' Aye and No vote; those vot~ng Aye being Mayor Busch,
Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none.
Applications for City Licenses
The following applications for City Licenses were presented and read:

It was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the
appliCAtions be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the fol-
lowing Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and
Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none.
Reports
The following reports for the month of June were presented and read:
Director of Finance
Health Officer
It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Landoe that the
reports be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye
and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner
Landoe; those voting No, none.
SID No. 155 -- Outstanding Bor;ds
The Manager read correspondence relative to $1900.00 in outstanding bonds in SID
No. 155, Paving On Buttonwood Avenue and East Main Street, in which practically all
assessments were levied against city property (Lindley Park); that a rechecking of
the interest calculations from the creation of the district until final payments were
made shows that all payments on interest were not paid in full by The City of Bozeman
and that the City is some $1200 delincment in these interest payments.
After discussion. it was decided to try to make a settlement wi th the bond holders
relative to their outstanding Special Improvement District N~ 155 bonds.
Bids -- W & C 1943
The matter of advertising for bids for W & C 1943 repair was discussed. It was moved
by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the Clerk be authorized

to advertise for bids for the necessary W & C repair work dur Ing 1943 in accordance wi th
the City Engineer's estimates as based on the inspection reports on file :in his office ..
and for such additional W & C work as may be ordered by the City Commission from time
to time in the interest of public safety, and the motion was carried by the following

Sale of Water Pump
The Manager stated the Fairbanks-Morse Com any had inquired relative to the sale of
the water pump owned by the City; that the pump had previously been offered to them for

$2500.00, and the City had no response from this offer and the pump had now been offered
to them for $2000.00. After discussion, it was decided the City should make a special
effort to sell the pump at this time by advertising in trade journals.
Nursery School
The Manager reported on the progress of the Nursery School, s ta ting that a fee should
be charged for every child in attendance and that the County Commissioners and charitable
organizations probably would help the'chi1dren of needy families who could not pay for this
service.
Report -- Mon trma Municipal League
The Mana~er and the City Attorney reported that matters of interest to all Montana
cities and towns had been discussed at the m0eting of the Montana Municipal League they
had recently attended in Butte; that the creation of a legal department in the Leagu.e would
be of particular benefit to all cities and towns.
Police Radlo & Health Unit Aid
The Manager reported that during the past week he had gone to Helena with County
Commissioner Parkin to request financial aid for the operation of the Police Radio from
Highway Patrol authorities and to discuss state budget allocations for the local City-
County Health uni t, wi th the 3ta te Board of Heal tho
Adjournment
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was
moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the meeting adjourn
and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor
Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none.
