Commission Room, City Hall Building, Friday evening, September 3rd, 1943, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being present were Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Landoe; City Attorney Aitken, City Manager Quinnell, City Engineer Thorpe,Director of Finance Walter Davis and the Clerk when the following proceedings were had to-wit: The minutes of the last regular sessIon were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Landoe that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye be ing Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none. I Claims for the Month Claims Nos. 5143 to 5299 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows: Airport Band Cemetery Cemetery Suspense Garbage War Bond General Library Park Water $ 168.35 500.00 1,317.50 195.00 860.46 185.65 8,235.23 448.01 1,277.06 2,083.50 15,270.76 $ The Manager stated he has audited these claims and finds them to be true and lawful claims against The City of Bozeman and recommends that warrants be drawn for their payment. After examina tion of the claims In detail by the Commission, 1 t was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that warrants be drawn for their payment and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none. The claim of Otis Hoekema in the amount of $7.00 being the plumber's charge for I rodding his sewer was presented and read. Mr. Hoekema contends that he was ordered by the Water Superintendent, W. R. Border, to have a plumber clean his sewer. Mr. W. R. Border was present and stated he told Mr. Hoekema. that if his sewer was stopped up, he should hire a plumber to fix it. After further discussion, it was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commis- sioner Landoe that the Claim be disallowed and the motion was carried b3T the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Landoe and Commissioner Sorenson; those votfng No, none. Report for the Month The following reports for the month were presented and read: CAshier Water COllector, Police Judge Chief of Police Fire Chief It was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the re- ports be accepted and ordered fIled and the motion was carried by the following Aye-and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor BuSCh, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner ~andoe; those voting No, nene. Investment CPC Funds I The Director of Finance reported that the Cemetery Permanent Care It"lund would have some money available for investment soon. It was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded b~ Commissioner Sorenson that the Director of Finance be authorized to invest the available I I I 57 funds of the Cemetery Permanent Care Fund in U. S. Government War. Bonds, Series G, and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busoh, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none. SID No. 333 & 335 -- Curb Repair Work Completed The Manager read Q report of City Engineer Thorpe stating that the Standard Construc- tion Company had completed the curb repair work for which it was liable in Special Improve- ment Districts No. 333 & 335, in a satisfactory manner. It was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seoonded by Commissioner Sorenson that the report be accepted and that the bonding oompany be notified of the satisfactory completion of the work and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none. Post War Planning City Manager Quinnell called attention to the importance of planning now for the post-war period and stated that he would weloome the appointment by the City Commission of a planning board or oommittee, the membership of which could be se1eoted from civIc organ- izations willing to help with this important work. The matter was taken under advisement. Adjournment There being No further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commies! oner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the meeting ad.1ourn and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none.
