October 1st, 1943
The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room,
City Hall Building, Friday evening, October 1st, 1943, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being
present were Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Landoe, City Attorney Aitken,
City Manager Quinnell, Director of Finance ,Walter Davis, and the Clerk, when the following
proceedings were had to-wit:
The minutes of the last regular session 'Were read, and it was moved by Commissioner

Sorenson, seconded by Connnlssioner Landoe that the minutes be approved as read, and the
motion was carried by ~he following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor ausch,
Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none.
Claims for the Month
Claims NOB. 5300 to 5439 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows:

The Manager stated he has audited these claims and finds them to be true and lawful
claims against The City of Bozeman, and recommends that warrants be drawn for their pay-
ment. After examination of the claims in detail by the by the Commission, it was moved
by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the claims be allowed and
warrants drawn for their payment, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and
No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner

Reports
The following reports for the month of September were presented and read:

Librarian for July, August & September.
It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Landoe that the
reports be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye
and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Soren~on and Commissioner
Landoe; those voting No, none.
Resolution No. 533
Weed Assessment
The Manager stated the resolution levying the assessment in the amount of $91.00
for the cutting of weeds during 1943 had been prepar.ed. He presented Resolution No.
533, entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, LEVYING AND ASSESSING
A SPECIAL ASSESSMENT OF TAXES UPON CERTAIN PROPERTIES IN THE CITY OF BOZEMAN,
COUNTY OF GALLATIN, STATE OF MONTANA, TO DEFRAY THE COST OF EXTgRMINATION AND
REMOVAL OF NOXIOUS WEEDS FOR THE YEAR 1943 PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF OR-
DINANCE NO. 428 ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE DEBINING AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUN-
ISHMENT AND ABATEMENT OF CERTAIN NUISANCES."

It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Landoe that the
Resolution be provisionally passed and October 8th, 1943 be set as the date for hearing

protests and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye
being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none.
Resolution No. 534 -- Garbage Assessment
The Manager stated the resolution levying the assessment in the amount of $11,077.04
for the removal and disposal of garbage for the year 1943 had been prepared. He presented
Resolution No. 534, entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA LEVYING AND
ASSESSING A SPECIAL ASSESSMENT OF TAXES UPON ALL REAL PROPERTY IN TIm CITY
OF BO~~MAN, COUNTY OF GALLATIN, STATE OF MONTANA, SERVICED AND FROM WHICH
GARBAGE WAS COLLECTED AND REMOVED DURING THE YEAR 1943, TO DEFR~Y THE COST
AND EXPENSB OF COLLECTING AND DISPOSING OF GARBAGE UNDER THE PROVISIONS
OF ORDINANCE NO. 696 OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN.
It was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the Reso-
lution be provisionally passed and October 8th, 1943 be set as the time for hearing pro-
tests and the motion was carried by the follOWing Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being
Mayor Buech, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none.
Resolution No. 535 -- Post-War Planning Board
The Manager stated that as has been discussed at a previous meeting, Resolution No.
535, providing for a Post-War Planning Board for The City of Bozeman had been prepared.
He presented and read Resolution No. 535, entitled:
A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR A POST-WAR PLANNING BOARD FOR THE CITY OF
BOZEMAN AND PRESCRIBING ITS DUTIES.
It was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the Reso-
lution be passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote;
those voting Aye being Mayor DuSCh, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those
voting No, none.
Nursery School
The Manager stated the Federal Government check for their share in the operation
cost of the Nursery School Project 24-M-5 had been received. He said that the school
would reopen immediately with Mrs. Minie Sheridan in charge, assisted by Mrs. Guy Nevin
and that after the enrollment increased sufficiently Mrs. Kay would be employed to work
with Mrs. Sheridan in the arrangement and conduct of a satisfactory program for the school.
Adjournment
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was
moved by Commissioner Landos, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the meeting adjourn
and the motion was carri ed by the following Aye and No vote; tho :'le voting Aye being Mayor
Busch, Commissioner Landoe and ~ommlssioner Sorenson; those voting No, none.
