The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room,
City Hall Building, Friday evening, October 29th, 1943, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being
present were Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Landoe, City Attorney Ait-
ken, City Manager Quinnell, ai:1d,the'.Ca.~rk when the following proceedings were had to-wi t:
The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner
Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Landoe that the mimutes be approved as read, and the
motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting ~ye being Mayor tiusch,
Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none.
Post-War Planning Committee
Mr. Dean Chaffin, appeared before the Commission and stated that he was a member of
the Committee of Economic Development for Gallatin and Madison Counties, which is affili-
ated with a national organization for post-war planning. He stated he had read of the
proposed City Planning Board, and thought that his committee would serve the post-war
planning needs of The City of Bozeman; that it is working with Montanans, Inc., and with
the national organization, thus it would be possible to avoid unnecessary repetition of
organizations and duplication of work.
It was explained to Mr. Chaffin that the Post-War Planning Board of the City of Bo-
zeman was organized to determine what itrprovements the people of the City of Bozeman wanted
and would support and it was thought tha t Inf'orma tion ga thered by bo th his organiza tion
and th~t of the City would be valuable for the purpose of serving the worthwhile improve-
ments needed f'or this community.
Mr. Chaffin also explained the work of the State Aviation Committee of which he is
Chairman.'
Application for City License
The application of Dr. Florence Reialand for a City License was presented and read.
It was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the applica-
tion be approved and the license issued and the motion was carried by the f'ollowing Aye
and No vote; those,voting Aye being Mayor BuSCh, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner
Landoe; those voting No, none.
Communication
A communication from the Kiwanis Club was read stating they had named W. G. Lowe as
their representative on the City's Post-War Planning Board.
Salary Claims for Nursery School
The matter of salary olaims for employees at the Nursery School was discussed, and it
was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Jorenson that the salary clalms
a t the Nursery School be paid as of the first of each month and the motion was carried by
the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor BUSCh, Commissioner Landoe
and Commissioner ~orenson; those voting No, none.

There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was
moved ,by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the meeting adjourn,
and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; tho~e votin~ Aye being Mayor
Busch, Commissioner Landoe and Commissioner Sorenson; those voting No, none.
