HomeMy WebLinkAbout1943-12-10 80 Bozeman, Montana December 10th, 1943 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Friday evening, December 10th, 1943, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. ThOBe being present were Mayor &lsch, Commissioner Landoe, Commissioner Sorenson, City Attorney Aitken, City Manager Quinnell, Director of Finance Walter Davis, Commissioners-elect Lowe and Healy and the Clerk when the following proceedings were had to-wit: The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Landoe that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Landoe and Commissioner Sorensonj those voting No, none. Reports The following reports for the month of November were presented and read: Employment Officer Director of Finance Nursery School It was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commismoner Sorenson $hat the re- ports be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none. Applications for Beer and Liquor License The applications of the Oakes for a City Beer and City Liquor license were presented and read. It was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the applications be approved and the licenses issued subject to his acquiring the reql1ired state licenses and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those. voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner ~andoe; those voting No, none. The application of Joe Toohey for a City Beer and City Liquor License were presented and read. It was moved by Co~missioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Landoe that the applications be approve d and the license issued and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none. SID Bonds He SID No. 155 A communication from H. L. Boyd, President of the Marine National Company of Seattle, regarding outstanding bonds in Special Improvement District No. 155 was read stating that Mr. Boyd's clients would accept ninety cents on the dollar for the Special Improvement District No. 155 bonds held by them. It was decided to have the Marine National Company deposit the bonds with a local bank for redemption at 90% of their par value and to file a claim for that amount for final action by the City Commission. An opinion of the City Attorney, regarding money remaining in Special Improvement District funds afte~ all bonds have been paid was presented and read, stating that the money Sh01Jld be paid to the Special Improvement District RE3volv1ng Fund, and if more ~han is needed remalns in the Revolving Fund, then it should be transferred to the General Fund. Armory The Mana ger s ta ted the t the S. D. A. Lec turers had applied for use of the Armor'V Drill Hall for December 19tb, and 26th, 1943, and January 2nd, 1944, and that the Junior Chamber of Commerce had requested use of the Drill Hall for their annual Christmas Party on December 23rd, 1943. I I I I I I 81 Airport -- Proposed Resolution for Joint-Ownership The proposed resolution expressing the City's willingness to sell to Gallatin County an undivided one-half interest in Gallatin Field was presented and read. Commissioners-elect Healy and Lowe were present and entered into the discussion that followed. It was dec ided to subml t the Resolution to the Airport Board for its approval and submission to the County Commissi oners before final action on the resolution is taken by the City Commission Ad'iournment There being no further busines s to come before the Commls sion at thi s time, it was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the meeting adjourn and the motion was cFlrried by the following Aye and No'vo te; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those votinIT No, none.
