The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session it) the Commission Room, Ci ty Hall
Building, Wednesday afternoon, February 21, 1951 at 1:00 o'clock P. M. Those being f.'resent were Mayor
Lowe, Commissioner Secor, Commissioner lIealy, City Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace and the
Clerk when the following proceedint;s were had:
The minutes of the lest regular session were read and it was moved by Corrunissioner Healy, seconded
by Commissioner Secor, that the minutes be aplroved as read, end the motion was carried by the following
Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Con~rlissioner Healy; those
voting No, none.
Ordinance No. 757 -- Vacating Short Street
The Manager stated the City Attorney as instructed hes prepared an Ordinance vacatinG Short Street
between North }'ifth and North Sixth Avenues, and the alley in Block One of The Viol ett Addition and the
north portion of the alley in Block Four of The Violett Addition. He presented Ordinance No. 757,

It was moved by Conunissioner Healy, seconded by Cormnissioner Secor, that the Ordinance be Fassed
and adopted and the motion was carried by the followinG Aye a.nd No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor
Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none.
Removal of Contractor's Building
The Manager stated that complaint has been received reg;arding the temporary shop and storag e
building located on Alderson Street between Thirteenth and Fif'teenth and that it should be removed.
It was moved by Commissioner Secor, seconded by Commissioner Healy, that the City Manager be instructed
to order the owner to have the building removed wi thin sixty days, and the motion was carried by the
following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Conunissioner Secor and Commissioner
Healy; those voting No, none.
Red Cross Meeting
The City Manager rerorted on a state meeting of the Red Cross, which he attended in Butte,
February 17th, 1951.
Rental of Folioe Car
The matter of police car rentals was discussed, and it was moved by Commissioner Secor, seconded
by Commissioner Healy, that the City MaI1flger be authorized to negotiate for the rental of a police
car on the same terms aLd conditions as the present rental agreement on whatever make of car may be
procured, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those votin~; Aye being Mayor
Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Hea.ly; those voting; No, none.
Mayor to Protest Taxing of Income on City Bonds
The :propose.l of the federal government to have income from municipal bonds subject to income tax
was brought up. Ai'ter discussion, it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Secor,
that the Mayor be requested to write the Representatives and Senators from Montana. protesting this
proposal and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those votinr; Aye being ivlayor
Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none.

There bein[; no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by
Commissioner Secor, seconded by Commissioner Healy, that the meeting adjourn and the ruotion was
