The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Cormnission Room, City Hall
Building, Wednesday afternoon, June 28, 1950, at 1:00 o'olock F. M. Those being present were Mayor
Lowe, Commissioner Secor, Commissioner Healy, City Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace and the
Clerk when the following proceedings were had:
The minutes of the last regular session held June 21, 1950 and of the special session held June
26, 1950 were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seoonded by Commissioner Secor, that the
minutes be approved as read, and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting
Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Conunissioner Healy; those voting No, none.
Bids for Misc. W & C 1950
The Manager stated this was the time and plaoe set for opening bids for the construction of Miscella-
neous Walks and Curbs 1950. He presented the affidavit of publication of the Notice to Contractors,
whereupon it was moved by Commissioner Seoor, seconded by Commissioner Healy, that the bids be opened and
read. and the motion was oarried; Commissioners Lowe, Secor & Healy voting Aye; those voting No, none.
The following bids were thereupon opened and read:

The bid of A. Tobin did not state the percent of cost for resurfacing and patohing, and after con-
sideration of the bids submitted, it was moved by Commissioner Secor, seoonded by Commissioner Healy,
that the bid of A. Tobin be accepted for that part of the proposal as listed, and that a separate con-
traot be made for the resurfacing and patching and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No
vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Seoor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No,
none.
Resignation of Police Offioer Nichols
The resignation of Polioe Offioer Nichols as of July 1st, 1950 W$.B read.
Delegate to Firemen Convention
The Manager reported that the annual Firemen's Convention is to be held in Sidney, July 22nd and
23rd, 1950. and it has been the custom to send two firemen to the annual oonvention. The City pays the
expense of one man and the Volunteer Department pays the expenses of the other delegate. After discus-
sion, it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Secor, that it being in the public
interest that two members of the Fire Department be authorized to attend this meeting and the expenses
of one be paid from the General Fund, and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote: those
voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none.
Claim for Copper Fipe -- Marshall Wells
Claim No. 8825 of Marsha11.Wells Company in the amount of $622.04 on the Water Fund was presented.
It was stated that the claim is entitled to a 1% discount if paid by the 30th of this month. After
examination of the claim, it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seoonded by Commissioner Secor, that the
claim be approved and a warrant drawn for its payment, and the motion was carried by the following Aye
and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting
No, none.
Reports
The following reports for the month of May, 1950 were presented:

It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Secor, that the reports be aocepted
and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the followi.ng Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being
Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Seoor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none.

Temporary Use of Fire Hydrant for Irrigating J'urroses
Mr. H. T. Forter and Homer Fisher were present to ask permission for temporary use of the fire
hydrant at the corner of Blaok Avenue and Tamaraok Street to irrigate newly planted grass on the
athletic field in the Fairgrounds. They stated it was their intention to have a 4-inch water line
installed from ~ouse Avenue, but the grass needed irrigation before this line could be installed.

After discussion and consideration, it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by ,Commissioner
Secor that temporary permission be granted to connect to the fire hydrant for irrigating purposes
subject to the irrigating hours set by the Water Superintendent, and the motion was carried by the
following Aye and No vote: those voting ~e being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner
Healy; those votine No, none.
Adjournment
There being no further business to came before the Commission at this time, it was moved by
Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Seoor, that the meeting adjourn and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and
Commissioner Healy} those voting No, none.
