M. Those being present were Commissioner Secor, Commissioner Healy, City Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace and the Clerk of the City Commission. In the absence of the Mayor, and so the t all members of the Commission might be present at this regular meeting, it was moved by Commissioner Secor, seconded by Commissioner Healy, that the meeting adjourn until 7: 30 0' clock F. M., July 5th, 1950, and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No votel those voting Aye being Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Attes tl ~~ .1 rk of t e City Comm ss on Bozeman, Montana July 5, 1950 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in an adjourned session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday evening, July 6th, 1950, at 7:30 o'clock F. M. Those being present were Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Healy, Commissioner Seoor, City Manager Henderson snd the Clerk when the following prooeedings were had; The minutes of the last regular session held June 28, 1950 were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Seoor, that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Claims for the Month Claims Nos. 8775 to 8824 and 8826 to 8982 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows: Band $ lZ.OO Cemetery 1,687.89 Garbage 1,432.29 General 14,49Z.96 Library 1,109.21 Park 3,577.16 Parking Meter 1,245.70 Polioe Reserve 86.15 SDS Revenue Fund 1,040.49 Water 5,422.18 Total $ 30,106.03 The Manager stated that he has audited these claims and finds them to be true and lawful claims against The City of Bozeman and recommends that warrants be drawn for their payment. After examination of the Claims in detail by the City Commission, it was moved by Commissioner Secor, seconded by Commissioner Healy, that the claims be approved and warrants drawn for their payment and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Awe being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Bond and Contract Walks & Curbs 1950 The bond and contract of A. Tobin for the construction of Miscellaneous Walks and Curbs for 1950 was presented. The bond and contract were approved as to form by the City Attorney, whereupon it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Secor, that the bond and contract be approved and accepted and the Mayor and the Clerk of the Commission be authorized to sign the contract for The City of Bozeman, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Seoor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. 1 I 1 I I 1 405 Speed Limits Restrictions Raised The Manager stated the proposed traffio ordinance provides for a speed limit of 35 miles per hour from the oity limits to certain designated streets on Highways No. 10 and 191 as follows: On Highway No. 10 from the east City Limits west to Buttonwood Avenue On Highway No. 10 from the north City Limits south to Durston Road On Highway No. 191 from the west City Limits east to Eleventh Avenue. After disoussion, it was deemed advisable that this provision be made effective as soon as possi- ble, and it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Secor, that the City Manager be authorized to erect signs designating a 35 mile speed limit on the streets as above mentioned and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No votel those voting Aye being M~or Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Quit Claim Deed -- Lots in Blocks 97 & 98, N. f. Addition The Manager stated that from examination of the records by the City Attorney and himself there appears to be no reason why the City can not quit claim property to T. B. and Katherine F. Story as requested at the meeting of June Zlst, 1950. He presented a quit claim deed as prepared by the City Attorney to the Southeast one-half of Lot 3, all of Lot 4, 28 and 29, Block 97 and Lots 21 and ZZ of Block 98 in the Northern Pacific Addition reserving an easement and right of way for the maintaining of the water line belonging to the City located in and across this propert;y. It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Secor, that the Mayor and the Clerk of the Commission be authorized to sign the deed for The City of Bozeman, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No votel those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Seoor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Reports The following reports for the month of June, 1950 were presented: Fire Chief Librarian Milk Inspection by Heal th Officer It was moved by Commissioner Secor, seconded by Commissioner Healy, the,t the reports be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Water Line into Fairgrounds Mr. H. T. Forter, of the Gallatin County Fair Board, appeared to ask the City to lay approximately 438 feet of four-inch water pipe from Rouse Avenue into the Fairgrounds, in order that the athletic field could be irrigated. Mr. Forter stated the High School would be responsible for the payment of the water bill, furnish the four-inch pipe, and weld the connections. After discussion, it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Secor, that the City dig the ditch, make the necessary connection to the water main, and lay the 438 feet of four-inch pipe to be furnished by the High School, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Agreement -- Use of Fairgrounds by Ci ty and High School An agreement between the Gallatin County Fair Commission, Gallatin County High School and The City of Bozeman was presented and read, whereby the Gallatin County High School and The City of Bozeman agree to furnish equipment and public utilities as they deem necessary and expedient in connection with such recreational ac ti vi ties as they may sponsor at the Fai rgrounds. After consideration, it was moved by Commissioner Secor, seconded by Commissioner Healy, that the Mayor and the Clerk of the Commission be authorized to sign the agreement for The City of Bozeman, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. ~06 Repairs to Grand Stand at Ball Fark The matter of repairing the grand stand at the baseball park, which was blown over and partially demolished in a wind storm, was given consideration and discussed at this time. It was moved by Commissioner Secor, seconded by Commissioner Healy, that the Manager be instructed and authorized to have the seats only in this grand stand repaired or replaced, reconstruction of the roof to be deferred to a later date and this reconstruction of the seats be subjeot to Mr. I. M. Johnson proceeding with the installation of toilet facHi ties as proposed by him and as accepted on May 17, 1960 and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No. none.
