The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room~ City Hall
Building, Wednesday afternoon, August 30th~ 1950, at IsOO o'clock P. M. Those being present wore Mayor
Lowe, Commissioner Seoor, Commissioner Healy, Ci~ Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace and the
Clerk when the following prooeedings were had:
The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commdssioner Healy, seoonded
by Commissioner Secor, that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was oarried by the following
Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Seoor and Commdssioner Healy; those
voting No, none.
Price for Waste Receptacle.
The Manager stated that he has received quotation on waste receptacles suitable for use on the city
sidewalks at $46.00 each. The matter was tabled for future consideration.
Claim for Copper Pip.
Claim No. 9311 on the water fund for $184.80 in favor of Marshall-Wells Company was presented. The
claim is subject to a cash discount of 1%, whereupon it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by
Commissioner Secor, that the olaim be approved and a warrant drawn for its payment, and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and
Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none.
Bond of Ci ty Manager
The bond of M. E. Henderson, as City Manager, in the amount of .2,000.00 was presented. The bond
was approved as to form by the City Attorney, whereupon, it was moved by Commissioner Secor, seconded
by Commissioner Healy, that the bond be approved and accepted and the motion was oarried by the following
Aye and No votes those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those
voting No, none.
Report.
The following reports were presented:
Director of Finance for the month of July, 1950
Librarian for the month of August, 1950
It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seoonded by Commissioner Seoor, that the reports be accepted
and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being
Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none.
City Attorney Opinion. Re: Forcing Property to Come Within City Limits
An opinion of the City Attorney was read stating that, under certain circumstances, property adjaoent
to the city limits could be foroed to come within the boundaries of a city.
Ci ty Attorney's Opinion. Re: City's Contribution for Aid to Alcohol ics
An opinion of the City Attorney was presented, stating the City could not legally contribute to the
medical aid and hospitalization of alooholics.
Adjournment
There being no further business to oome before the Commission at this time, it was moved by
Commi.uionerSecor, seconded by Commissioner Healy, that the meeting adjourn and the motion was oarried
by the following Aye and No vote:
