HomeMy WebLinkAbout1950-09-06 430 Bozeman, Montana September 6, 1950 The Cormnission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday afternoon, September 6, 1950, at 1:00 o'clock P. M. Those being present were Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor, Commissioner Healy, City Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace and the Clerk when the following proceedings were had: The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Secor, that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Card to Attend Safety Council The Manager reported Ken Card, Recreation Director, has been invited to participate at Helena on October 6th in the Governor's Council on Safety as it pertains to recreational activities and sports. It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seoonded by Commissioner Seoor, that it being in the public interest Mr. Ken Card be authorized to attend this council and his expenses be paid from the Park Fund, and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Seoor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Agreement .- Use of Reoreation Area at Fairgrounds The written agreement between the Gallatin County Fair Commission, Gallatin County High School and the City of Bozeman for use of the reoreational area at the Fairgrounds was presented. This agreement having been presented previously for the oonsideration of the Commission, it was moved by Commissioner Seoor, seconded by Comndssioner Healy, that the Mayor and the Clerk of the City Commission be authorized to sign the agreement for the City of Bozeman, and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Seoor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Reports The following reports for the month of August, 1950 were presented: Folice Judge Fire Chief Chief of Folice Cashie r Water Collector Sanitary Inspector It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Secor, that the reports be accepted and ordered filed, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Claims for the Month Claims Nos. 9264 to 9505 inclusive, were presented on the various funds as follows: Band Cemetery Garbage General Library Park Parking Meter I'olice Reserve SDS Revenue S. I. D. W-H Tax Water Walk & Curb 1950 (BondS) Total - - . 706.06 2,316.39 1,763.20 18,966.87 894.65 3,488.82 959.50 86.15 1,388.87 20,035.36 1,642.50 5,658.93 3,700.00 $61,60,7.30 The Manager stated that he has audited these claims and finds them to be true and lawful claims against the City of Bozeman and recommends that warrants be drawn for payment. Arter examination of the Claims in detail by the City Commission, it was moved by Commissioner Secor, seconded by Commissioner Healy, that the claims be approved and warrants drawn for their payment and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: Those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; 1 I 1 1 I 1 431 those voting No, none. Sale of S. I. D. 361 Bonds The Manager stated this was the time and place set for the sale of the bonds of Special Improve- ment District No. 361. He presented the affidavit of publication of the Notice of Sale, and stated that no written bids have been received. The M~or called for oral bids, and the bid of D. R. Green of par, ~ interest, was heard. There being no further bids, it was moved by Commissioner Secor, seconded by Commissioner Healy, that the bid ofD. R. Green of par, ~ interest for the bonds of Special Improvement District No. 361 be accepted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Delivery of Ambulance The Manager reported the ambulanoe to be given by the Elks Lodge for use in the county would soon be ready for delivery, and the Ci~ has been asked to have the ambulance delivered in their name. It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Secor, that upon advice from the City Attorney, and provided it can be legally done, the ambulance be delivered to the City, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none.
