March 29, 1950
The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Rall
Building, Wednesday afternoon, Maroh 29th, 1950 at 1:00 o'clock P. M. Those being present were
Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Healy, Commissioner Secor, City Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelaoe,
and the Clerk when the following proceedings were had:
The minutes of the last regular session held March 22, 1950 were read, and it was moved by
Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Secor, that the minutes be approved as read. and the
motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner
Healy and Commissioner Seoor; those voting No. none.
Applioation for City LiCense
The application of Tom MoCusker for a City License was presented. There having been SOme question
over the application of this license relative to the number of persons employed, the matter was brought
to the special attention of the Commission. After discussion, after which it was considered Mr. McCusker's
business as a life insuranoe agent is on the same basis as other life insurance agents in Bozeman, it
was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Secor, that the application be approved on the
basis that it is an individual agency and that the lioense be issued for a fee of $5.00 and the motion
was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Healy
and Commissioner Seoor; Hose voting No, none.
Disoussion of Juvenile Delinquencies
The question of handling juveniles apprehended in traffic violations and other offenses was
discussed. It was recommended that the City Attorney arrange a conference between himself. the
i'olice Judge. the Chief of Police, the Judge of the Juvenile Court and the Probationary Officer of
Gallatin County, so that this question may be discussed in detail and clear understanding be reached
as to how such oases must be handled.
Reports
The following reports were presented:
Director of Finance for the month of February, 1950
Wa.ter Colleotor for the month of March, 1950.
It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Seoor, that the reports be accepted
and ordered filed and the motion was calTied by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being
Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Healy and Commissioner Seoor; those voting No, none.
VFW i'oppy Day
The City Manager reoommended that the verbal request of the VFW to have their annual Poppy Day
May 27, 1950, be approved, whereupon, it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner
Secor, that the request be approved and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote: those
voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Healy and Commissioner Secor; those voting No, none.
Adjournment
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time. it was moved by
Commissioner Secor, seoonded by Commissioner Healy, that the meeting adjourn and the motion was oarried
by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor
Seoor; those voting No, none.
