HomeMy WebLinkAbout1950-04-26 Bozeman, Montane. April 26, 1950 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hal! Building, Wednesday afternoon, April 26, 1950 at 1:00 o'clock F. M. Those beinr present were Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Healy, Commissioner Secor, City Manager Henderson, and the Cle rk when the follow- ing proceedings were had: I The minutes of the last regular session held April 19, 1950 were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Secor, that the minutes be aprroved as read, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Healy and Commissioner Secor; those voting No, none. Trash Cans for Main Street Dr. A. D. Vadheim, representing the Junior Chamber of Commerce, was present to ask the Commission to consider placing trash cans on Main Street as a means of keeping the city streets cleaner. After discussion, it was decided to discuss this matter with representatives of other cities at the annual meeting of the Municipal League next month, to see what ex[erience their cities may have had with placing trash cans on the streets. Proposed Flat for Northwest part of City Mr. and Mrs. Roy Houser were p-esent to discuss with the City Commission a proposed plat for afproximately twenty acreS in the northwest part of' the city. Reports The following reports were presented: Water Collector for the month of April. 1950 Director of Finance for the month of March, 1950 I It was moved by Commissioner Secor, seconded by Commissioner Healy, that the reports be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Healy and Commissioner Secor; those voting No, none. The City Manager reported on the Water Works Meeting he attended in Missoula. License Fee for Carnival Dr. R. C. Ritter, Fresident of the Junior Chamber of Commeroe, was present. He stated that the Junior Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a weeks showing of a carnival in BozerMill in June and requested that consideration be given to granting a license for this carnival at a reduoed fee from the normal $100.00 per day license required for such shows. Action on the request was deferred until the next regular Commission meeting. Request for Koch Streot to be Arterial Street Dr. R. C. Ritter, also requested that Koch Street be made an arterial street as it was the main thoroughfare to the west part of the ci ty, and should be considered at the time the traffic ordinance is being revised. Delegates to Municipal League Meeting City Manager Henderson announced the meeting of the Montana Municipal League in Helena May 12th 1 and 13th, 1950, and reoommended that the City Commission attend this meeting along with other delegates. It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Secor, that it being in the public interest, City Manager Henderson, Director of Finance Shadoan. and the members of the City Commission be authorized to attend the meeting of the Municipal League, and their expenses be paid from the General Fund, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Healy and Commissioner Secor; those voting No, none. Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Cormnission at this time, it was moved by :377 378 Commissioner Secor, seconded by COlmnissioner Healy, that the meeting adjourn and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner IIealy and Commissioner Secor; those voting No, none. 1 Attest: I 1
