The Commission of the City of Boteman met in regular session in the Commis sion Room, City Hall
Building, Wednesday afternoon, January 4th, 1950 at 1;00 o'clock f. M. Those being present were Mayor
Lowe, Commissioner Healy, Commissioner Secor, City Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace. and the
Clerk When the following proceedings were had:
The minutes of the last regular session held January 3rd, 1950 were read, and it was moved by
Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Secor that the minutes be approved as read. and the motion
was oarried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Healy and
Commissioner Secor; those voting No, none.
Reports
The following reports for the month of December, 1949 were presented:
Water Collector
Folioe Judge
Sewage Disposal Plant Operator
Librarian
Fire Chief
and the annual report for the year 1949 of the Police Judge.
It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Secor, that the reports be accepted
and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being
Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Healy and Commissioner Seoor; those voting No, none.

It was moved by Commissioner Healy. seconded by Commissioner Secor, that the applioations be
approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those
voting Aye being Mayor Lowe. Commissioner Healy and Commissioner Secor; those voting No, none.
Request for Itinerant Merchant Lioense Ordinanoe
Mr. Chris Haackel and Dennis O'Connor representing local wholesalers, and H. C. Norwood representing
the Teamster's Union were present to ask the City Commission to consider licensing itinerant merchants
at a higher fee than is charged at the present time. They stated this would bring more revenue to the
City, and would put the amount of the license fee for itinerant merchants in line with the fee in other
cities. Mr. Norwood stated he was interested in keeping the local truokers, who live here and pay
taxes, employed.
After discussion, it was decided to send a questionnaire to other oities in the state regarding
their licensing of itinerant merchants.
Communication -- Burns & McDonnell
A communication was read from Allan Wymore representing Burns & McDonnell, reporting on Mr. WYmore's
inspection at the Sewage Treatment Plant during the week Deoember 13th and Deoember 20th, 1949. This
letter made certain reconnnendations, the principal of which is the necessity of a new or different pump
for the heat regulator at the digester. He stated that the new pump has been ordered and that a field
engineer from the Dorr Company is expected to be here to surervise its installation. It is now more
than two weeks sinoe this pump or pump parts were ordered and no word has as yet been received from
the Dorr Company.
Adjournment
There being no further business to come before the Connnission at this time, it was moved by
