The Commission of' The City of Bozeman met in regular sess ion in the Commission Room. City Hall
Building" Wednesday efternoon. March 9th, 1949 at 1:00 o'clock J. M. Those being Iresent were Mayor
Sorenson. Commissioner Lowe. Commissioner Healy. City Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelece and
the Clerk. when the following Iiroceedings were had:

seconcied by Commissioner Lowe that the minutes be apFroved as read, and the motion was carried by the
f'ollowing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being; Mayor Sorenson. Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner
Healy; those voting No, none.
Rerorts
The followinG re}orts for the month of February. 1949 were presented:

It was moved by Commissioner Healy. seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the relorts be accerted
a.nd ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye

It was moved by Corruuissioner Healy. seconded by Corrunissioner Lowe that the arplications be
sTrToved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the followinG Aye and No vote: those
voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson. Corrunissioner Lowe and Commissi.oner Hee.ly; those voting No. none.
Sewer Ch5ri,e for Collece
The Manager announced that the State Lecislature has aprropriated money f'or the pa;ymer:t of the
monthly sewer charge for Montana State College. and will be raid durins the fiscal year commencing
July I, 1949. It was moved by Commissioner Healy. seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the Water Col-
lector be authorized to accept the payment for water rental for Montana State College without the
payment of' the sewer rental submitted uI to the present time, end the motion was carried by the follow-
ing; Aye and No votet those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy;
those voting No. none.
SewaE;e Fl8.llt Operator
The matter of hiring an operator for the Sewage Treatment Plant and of salary to be paid f'or
I that position WAS discussed. It was pointed out that it would be advantaceous to select an operator
soon so that he could work on the rlant during its construction and thus better f'amiliarize himself
wi th details of its construction and operation. It was decided that salary for the position shall be
$200.00 plus use of the livinG quarters at the rlant.
Gas Fumps on Street Area during Building Operations
The Mana1:':;er stated that the Continental Oil Company plans to erect a new station at the corner
of Main and Rouse and has asked permission to place the gas pumps on the street area durinf'; buildinG

operations. After discussion, it was decided that permission be ~ranted to place the pumps on Rouse
Street.
1'.Ieeting of Service Organizations -- Re: Ilea th,,; Swimmin,; Pool
The Manae;er read a letter announcing; the meeting of representatives of service organizations of
the City to be held Thursday, March lOth, 1949. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the financ-
ing of a project to heat the water in the swimming pool. I
Hequest for LoadinG Zone
The Manager stated that the Bozeman Sheet Metal Works, 22 South Grand. has made a request f'or a
loading; zone. It was moved by Corrnnissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the request be
ref'erred to the Chief' of Folice for investigation and reconunendations and the motion was carried by
the following Aye and No votet those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Healy and Commis-
si oner Lowe; those voting No. none.
Application for f'ederal Funds f:)r Aiq~ort
The project application f'or funds from the federal government in the amount of 53.5% of the cost
of the Administration Building at Gallatin Field was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe,
seconded by Commissioner Healy that the Mayor be authorized to sign the application for the City of
Bozeman and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor
Sorenson. Commissioner Healy and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No. none.
Bids tor Frefabricated Buildings at City Yards
Drawings for tile basis of' specif'ications and preparing bids f'or pref'abricated buildings at the
City Yards were presented. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe. seconded by Commissioner Healy that
upon completion of' the specifications that the City Manager be authorized to advertise for bids for I
the prefabricated buildings and the motion was carried by the f'ollowing Aye and No vote: those vot-
ing Aye beinc Ma;yor Sorenson. Commissioner Healy and Cormnissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.

Commissioner Healy. sec0nded by Commissioner Lowe that t}1e meetin;; adjourn a.nd the motion was carrieo
