HomeMy WebLinkAbout1949-06-01 257 Bozeman, Montana June 1, 1949 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday afternoon, June 1st, 1949 at 1 :00 0' clock F. M. Those being present were Mayor Sorenson. Commissioner Lowe, Commissioner Healy, City Manager Henderson. and the Clerk when the fol- lowing proceedings were had to-wit: I The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Healy, that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the f'ollowing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Claims The following claims, Nos. 5577 to 5886 inolusive, covering the monthly salaries of' employees and the payment to Haggerty & Messmer on construction work at the Sewage Treatment Plant and J. L. Ford f'or painting at the City Library were presentedt Band 15.35 Cemetery 1,788.57 Garbage l,l83.76 General 8,956.69 Library 1,:330.32 Park l,189.45 Parking Meter 432,92 SDS Cons true tion 24,278.58 Wat er 2.906.98 Total $42,082.62 The Manager stated that he has audited these claims and finds them to be true and lawf'ul claims against the City of Bozeman and recommends that warrants be drawn for their payment. After examination of the claims in detail by the City Commission, it was moved by Commissioner Healy. seconded by Commis- I sioner Lowe. that the claims be approved and warrants drawn for their payment, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No votet those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Comrrdssioner Lowe and Commis- sioner Healy; those voting No, none. AI-plications f'or City Licenses The following applications f'or City Licenses were presented: Larry's Welding Shop Powder Horn T. W. Symmonds Joseph Rae M. 1'. Davidson It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Lowe, that the applications be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the f'ollowing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Conunissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No. none. Reports The following reports for the month of May, 1949 were presented, Librarian Sani tary Inspector Fire Chief Folice Judge Water Collector It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Lowe, that the reports be accepted and ordered f'iled and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being I Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. MeetinL of Gallatin Field Board The Manager announced a meeting of the Gallatin }'ield Board to be held Wednesday. June 8th, 1949. in the Community Room at the Court House, at which time bids would be received f'or the construction of' the Administration Building at the Air}.ort. l'ublic Hearing S. 1. D. 357 The Manager stated that this was the time and place set for the hearing of protests to the creation of Special Improvement District No. 357, sanitary Sewer on Beall Street between Third and Fifth Avenues. ~l58 He presented the affidavit of publication of the Notice and the Clerk's Mailing Certificate that all property owners of record have been notified. There being no one present to protest and no protests having been filed. it was moved by Commissioner Lowe. seconded by Commissioner Healy, that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a resolution creating the district and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No votet those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe and Conunissioner Healy; those voting No. none. ParkinG on North Grand north of Cottonwood Street I' The Mana,ger stated that, to prevent traffic congestion on North Grand during Ball games, he proposed to issue an order prohibiting; pArking on the east side of North Grand Avenue, north of Cottonwood Street, during ball gMles. It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Low~that the order be aprroved, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none.
