June 22, 1949
The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall
Building, Wednesday afternoon. June 22nd, 1949 at ItOO o'clock f. M. Those being present were Mayor
Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe, Commissioner Healy, City Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace and
the Clerk, when the following proceedings were hadt
The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded I
by Commissioner Lowe, the.t the minutes be approved as read. and the motion was carried by the following
Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those
voting No, none.
Applioation for Beer License
The application of Ralph K. Williams to retail beer at 124 West Main Street was presented. It was
moved by Commissioner Healy.. seconded by Commissioner Lowe.. that the application be approved and the
license issued and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor
Sorenson. Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No. none.
Froposal for F'ire frotection at FictsweetFoods
A proposal by fictsweet Foods. Inc. for The City of Bozeman to furnish fire protection for their
property at the north edge of the City Limits was presented and read. The proposal also asked pennission
to connect their automatic fire alarm system to the City's alarm system. After consideration of the
proposal, the matter was referred to the City Attorney to determine the City's responsibility as to fire
protection and the upkeep in case such an agreement was entered into, and also investigate the matter of
a charge for such service.

The following reports for the month of May, 1949 were presented:

It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Healy, that the r~ports be accepted
and ordered filed and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote! thEse voting Aye being
Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none.
Proposal for Study of' Water System
A proposal from the Morrison Engineering Company, Helena, Montana, to make a study of the water
supply and distribution system and a plan for revision and the submission of a preliminary report to
the City Commission was presented and read. The cost of such a study is not to exceed $3,000.00.
After discussion of the 'proposal, it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Lowe,
that the proposal be approved and a contract entered into for such a study of the citi's water system.
and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson.
Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none.
Chief to Attend Institute in Missoula
A letter from the F. B. I. to the Chief of folice was read stating that a law enforcement institute
would be held in Missoula at the University on July 13th and 14th. 1949. It was moved by Commissioner I
Healy. seconded by Commissioner Low~that it being in the public interest. that the Chief of police be
authorized to attend this institute, and his expenses be paid from the General Fund and the motion was
oarried by the follo'Wi ng Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe and
Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none.
Report on Meeting of Municipal League at Glendive
The City Manager reported to the City Commission on the meeting of the Montana Municipal League
held in Glendive, Montana, which he attended.

Adjournment
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commis-
sioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Healy. that the meeting adjourn and the motion was oarried by the
following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Healy and Commissioner
Lowe; those voting No, none.
