City Hall Building, Wednesday afternoon, February 2nd, 1949 at 1:00 o'clock f. M. Those being present were Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe, Commissioner Healy, City Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace and the Clerk. when the following proceedings were had: I The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Corrunissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the minutes be approved as read. and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No. none. Appointment of' Board Members The Mayor announced appointment and re-appointments of' members to the following boards: Board of Public Recreation: (new appointment} Term to Expire Edward M. I, 1951 It was moved by Commissioner Lowe. seconded by CommiSdoner Healy that the appointments be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Reports The f'ollowing reports were presented: For November, 1948 - Flumbing Inspector For December, 1948 - Plumbing Inspector, Director of Finance, Cashier For January. 1949 - Water Coll ector, Cashier, Chief of folice, Police Judge, Fire Chief, Sanitary Inspector. Librarian For the Year. 1948 - Plumbing Inspector, Librarian It was moved by Corrnnissionsr Healy. seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the reports be accepted and ordered f'iled and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Chims for the Month Claims Nos. 4991 to 5167 inclusive were presented on the various funds as f'ollows; Band $ 520.65 I Cemetery 618.83 · Cemy. Fermanent Care 1, 100.00 Garbage 1,458.26 General 12.503.08 Library 913.25- Park 2,030.39 ParkinG Meters 1,178.00 Folice Reserve 1,196.15 Wi thholding Tax 887.70 SDS Construction 476.08 Wa ter 3.847.17 T 0 t a I $26,729.56 The Manager stated that he has audited these claims and finds them to be true 8.nd lawful claims 208 against The City of Bozeman and recommends that warrants be drawn f'or their payment. After examination of the Claims in detail by the City Commissioners, it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Corrnnissioner Healy that the claims be approved and warrants drawn for their payment and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Corlllllissioner Healy and Corrunissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Payment in Lieu of' Taxes I The Manager reported that the City of Bozeman would receive from the Federal Government $590.48 in lieu of' taxes for the Legion Housing Project. Bittner Keeton-Vadheim Clinic It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Healy that the applications be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the f'ollowing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Healy and Conunissioner Lowe; those voting; No. none. froposed use of House on M.c C a;:,' (Stimson) lrol- arty The Manager stated that the Gallatin County Farm Bureau had made inquiry regarding the use of the house on the McCay property which the city is purchasing, as a lounge and resting place for their members and other visitors in the City. The Manager stated further that the Gallatin Pioneer Society was interested in using the house as a museum. These proposals together with the primary purpose for which the lot was purchased were discussed by the Commission, but no action taken. I Additional Buildings for City Yards The Manager stated that. in order to house equipment and give working room at the City Yards, additional buildings are necessary. He presented some esUmates of' cost of construction of different types of buildings. After consideration. the Manager was authorized to employ an architect to prepare plF.ms, specifications and estimates of costs of buildings at the City Yard, to be used as a basis for issuing a call for bids. Transfer of Escrow Agreement for Masonic Tract The Manager stated that the City Attorney. as instructed, has prepared an amendment to the agree- ., F. & A. M. providing that the Gallatin Trust & Savings Bank act as ffient with the Bozeman Lodge #18. A. the escrow agent instead of the Commercial National Bank in the purchase of this property. It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Corrunissioner Lowe that the amendment be al..proved and the Mayor and the CIa rk of the Comr:dss ion be authorized to siEn the agreement f'or The City of Bozeman and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: tl,ose voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson. Commissioner Healy and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
