October 20th. 1948
The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall
Building, Wednesday afternoon. October 20th, 1948. at 1:00 o'clock F. M. Those being present were
Mayor Sorenson. Comnlissioner Healy. City Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace and the Clerk
when the following proceedings were had:
The minutes of the last adjourned session were read. and it was moved by Commissioner Healy, I
seconded by Mayor Sorenson that the minutes be approved as read. and the motion was carried by the
following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson and Commissioner Healy; those
voting No. none.
Cleim - Bozeman Creek Reservoir Co.
The Manager reported that the work of repairing the control tower and cat-walk at Mystic Lake
dam has been completed and the city's annual assessment plus a special assessment to cover the repair
work is $1.357.00. He presented the claim of the Bozeman Creek Reservoir Company in the amount of
$1.357.00. It was moved by Commissioner Healy. seconded by Mayor Sorenson that the claim be approved
and a warrant drawn for its payment and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote: those
voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson and Commissioner Healy; those voting No. none.
Application for City License
The application of the Gallatin Radiator Servioe for a one.ha1f year city license_was presented.
It was moved by Commissioner Healy. seconded by Mayor Sorenson that the application be approved and
the license issued and the motion Was oarried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye
being Mayor Sorenson and Commissioner Healy; those voting No. none.
Report I
The report of the Flumbing Inspector for the month of September. 1948 was presented. It was
moved by Commissioner Healy. seconded by Mayor Sorenson that the report be accepted and ordered
filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor
Sorenson and Commissioner Healy; those voting No. none.
Leave of Absence
A written request of George Gillette. Fireman. for two weeks sick le ave and two months Je ave of
absenoe was presented and read. It was moved by Commissioner Heal~ seconded by Mayor Sorenson that
the two weeks sick leave with pay be granted and two months leave of absence without pay be granted
and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson
and Commissioner Healy; those voting No. none.
Appointment -- Burlingame to Library Board
Mayor Sorenson announoed the appointment of Mrs. M. G. Burlingame as a member of the Library
Board to fill the unexpired term of Mrs. J. M. Hamilton, ending January 1. 1949. It was moved by
Commissioner Healy. seoonded by Mayor Sorenson that the appointment be approved and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson and Commissioner
Healy; those voting No. none. I
Chs.rge for Fire Equipment
The Manager stated that the Fire Department had gone to the Osborne Ranch north of the City near
the flour mills on a fire call. and that Mr. Osborne has offered to pay for this service. It was
moved by Commissioner Hemy, seconded by Mayor Sorenson that a fee of $36.00 be charged Mr. Osborne
for this fire call and the motion was carried by the following Aye end No vote: those voting Aye
being Mayor Sorenson and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none.

City Manager to Visit Other Cities
It WaS moved by Commissioner Healy. seconded by Mayor Sorenson that the City Manager be
authorIzed to visit other cities in Montana. when he deems it necessary. to discuss city problems
with other city officials, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those
voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson and Commissioner Healy; those voting No. none.
I Adjournment
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by
Commissioner Healy, seoonded by Mayor Sorenson that the meeting adjourn and the motion was oarried
by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson and Commissioner Healy;
those voting No. none.
