HomeMy WebLinkAbout1948-10-27 182 Bozeman. Montana October 27th. 1948 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room. City Hall Building. Wednesday afternoon. October 27th. 1948. at 1:00 o'clock F. M. Those being present were Mayor Sorenson. Commissioner Healy. Commissioner Lowe. City Manager Henderson. City Attorney Lovelace and the Cle rk 'When the foll owing proceedings were had: The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Hea~, I seconded by Co:mm.issioner Lowe that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson. Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Leave of Absence -- Homer Fisher A written request from Homer Fisher for a thirty-day leave of absenoe due to illness was presented and read. It was moved by Commissioner Healy. seoonded by Commissioner Lowe that the request be granted and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote: thOSe voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson. Commissioner Lowe end Commissioner Healy; those voting No. none. Rezoning portion Karp's Addition The Manager stated that verbal inqui~ had been made relative to rezoning a portion of Karp's Addition to change it from a "B" Residence Distriot to a Business-Residence-Distriot. The particular purpose of the proposed rezoning would be to allow a "Trailer Camp" to be established at ~he corner of 5th Avenue and Durston Road. After discussion the Commission decided that no ohange intlle Zoning Ordinance should be considered on the basis of an individual request and that no action on this inqui~ is neoessary. Scale for Sewage Treatment Flant I At the request of Mr. Quinnell the City Manager brought up the question of the purchase of the special scale to weigh one-ton containers of chlorine at the Treatment Plant. He explained that the original plans were for the use of chlorine in 150 lb. containers but that. on the advice of Burns & McDonnell. and for econoIlo/ of' operation. it is recommended that one-ton chlorine containers be used. The cost of a speoial scale for weighing such containers will be approximately ;800.00. It was moved by Commissioner Healy. seconded by CommiSSioner Lowe that the City Manager be authorized to purchase this soale as recommended by Mr. Quinnell. and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting ~e being Mayor Sorenson. Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy. those voting No. none. Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time. it was moved by Commissioner Lowe. seconded by Commdssioner Healy that the meeting adjourn and the motion was carried by the following kJe and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson.
